Don't waste your time. I went to see the big summer blockbuster and was extremely disappointed with the dedication from the crew working that day. I was told to go to theater #4. I went to theatre #4 and waited for the movie to start. Half and hour after the "start time" still no movie, no previews, no nothing. A fellow patron who was not as patient as I returned from speaking with the staff. He was told the movie had been transferred to a different theatre. The other patrons and I went to that theatre where the movie had already started. NO ONE came to tell us earlier that the movie had been moved to another theatre. Don't waste your time with this theatre. Don't patronize the local businesses in the area. I have been to the Southpoint theatres and Northgate theaters and both of those locations have better staff and theaters. Just fyi, I rarely give poor reviews or negative feedback about anything but people who just don't care about their job with so many out of work just yanks my chain. Sorry to have to say I told you so if you go to this Wynnsong at MLK Parkway.

Running on shoestring budget?. First, I would say this theater is as clean as most of those that are part of one of the big cineplex chains. The theater was renovated a few years ago when stadium seating became the norm, and the cineplex was split into smaller venues. I go there frequently and have enjoyed many movies there.

Only rarely is the temperature in the theater too hot or cold. But since Southpoint opened I have been disappointed with the efficiency at the concession stands. Too many times on weekends in the evening it takes too long to buy refreshments. This is because there are too few people manning the concessions. Many times there is someone (or 2) standing around watching.

One would think that management would plan on having more people available to man the concessions between 7 and 7:30 and 9 and 9:30, when most of the evening movies begin. If I were the manager I would fill in behind the counter myself during those times if I was not allowed to hire more employees. There's no excuse for having to stand in line for 10-15 minutes when there are only 2 people in front of you. I'm sure this has cost the theater many customers. At the prices we pay for movies these days you can't blame the customer for going elsewhere. If that problem was fixed I would never go to any other theater unless the Wynnsong was not screening the movie I wished to see.

Avoid morning and early shows. We took our kids to see a 1pm show and the staff had started the day with a skeleton crew. The line (there was only one window open to purchase tickets, poor lady!) curved all the way around the building. The manager was the only one working in the concession stand. 35 minute wait to get popcorn and candy. While waiting for snacks, there was an altercation between two men outside at the ticket window for someone "jumping" in line. Who wants to wait AND be late?? The manager was too busy to handle the fight. There were children waiting to get in who had to witness this terrible behavior.

While we have typically enjoyed this theater in the past, the mornings and early shows will be seriously avoided by our family- or we'll bring our own soda and popcorn!

Good luck!

User review by philb0543. Walls at Wynnsong are too thin. Neighboring movies' soundtracks can be heard. The projectors/projectionists are not that great and focus is sometimes not quite sharp on the screen. But at least I've never seen a film get badly damaged (and need to be repaired) while playing at Wynnsong - this is a good thing.

Bring Cash and Lots of It. This is the only theater that I have encountered that you cannot pay by credit card. I mean what year are we living in? Also, do not try to pay with your debit card - half the cards are not accepted and the half that are get charged an extra $1. Unfortunately, I have seen them lose business as a result.

This is an older theater and is nothing special.

The staff are nice and friendly though.

As with all movie theaters, the prices are high.

If you plan to go here remember to bring cash as they have not moved into the information age yet.
