Posh elegance meets Southern charm at this restaurant in the Washington Duke Inn..
In Short
A gracious doorman and life-size portraits of prominent Duke family members let you know you're somewhere special. Dishes don't succumb to the nouveau tradition of ingredient overkill. Minimal gourmet cuisine comes in the form of succulent prosciutto-wrapped Alaskan halibut, dressed on goat cheese stone-ground grits in a lobster-stock fricasse. For a delicate Asian flavor, try the seared tuna Napoleon, a sushi-grade ahi with tobiko, wakame seaweed and julienned cucumbers in sweet ginger and soy syrups.

Superb!.
I think this is the best restaurant by far in the Triangle. We had their dinner tasting menu and had an excelent experience. The food and service is fantastic and their wine menu is extensive. I would highly recommend it for a special ocassion. We celebrated our daughter's baptism there and they were very accomodating and we would do it again in a heartbeat...

If you were to describe what the perfect brunch should be. this is it! An incredible full breakfast with great omelot chefs, and an array of delicious luncheon dishes, vegetables and salads. Now in a very elegant new restaurant setting. Perfect for special occasions. You can't do better than this for 1000 miles. Better not wear jeans.

What's Wrong With Durham?.
Unlike an earlier reviewer, being in Durham is not necessarily a negative.
Great food, though more changes in menu would be nice. Service is generally superior. Relaxing environment, especially if Paul is on the piano. A little over priced.
