The Scene – Ten feet below West Franklin Street, a hearty jukebox in a two-pool table lounge cranks out modern classics from Dillon Fence to AC/DC. After a few smokes and a game of pool--for those who hate cue sticks there's pinball--duck into the bar alcove to find a prehistoric theme gone extreme. But the good 'n' gritty live music justifies the charade. The stage--an Oriental rug in the corner--hosts some of the hottest undergrounds in town, not to mention some well-known folks like Jennyanykind and Trailer Bride.
Casual, low-key

Low key & casual. Good atmosphere. Friendly people. Good place to chill out on the couches in the back and chat with friends.
A Rock Bar With a Soul
by jazzman
The Cave *is* the place to see bands, and bands *know* The Cave is the place to play. It hasn't sold it's soul to the corporate devil like Jillian's or Rum Runners; this is a real rock bar with a palpable, kind soul. You will leave The Cave smelling like smoke with ringing ears, as it should be. But, what you get in return, are the best, most honest performances area bands can muster.
