What People Are Saying About Firebirds Rocky Mountain Grill

In Short – A little piece of the Rocky Mountains plunked down in the Streets at Southpoint mall: exposed beams, stone walls, a central fireplace, earthy tones everywhere. The crowd it attracts may be mall-going, but this is not a food-court restaurant. Oversized martini glasses dot the tables; classic rock wafts overhead; and an enormous bar up front does brisk business as folks wait for tables to turn. On the menu, expect steakhouse fare with a Western twist, plus top-notch wine list.
Misleading menu

Being on a special diet (ordered by my doctor), I found something I thougt would be good, the ahi tuna served with the garden green salad. Well, when it came out, it was the tuna with a little bit of greens, not served with the garden green salad as stated on the menu. I asked the waitress "what's the deal" and although she agreed that the menu said what it said, I got the tuna with essentially no salad. To my knowledge she didn't persue it further, and the manager was not informed. I consider that their menu is inaccurate, that I paid for a salad that I didn't get, and I doubt that I'll ever go there again. I've eaten at many places on this planet, and have seldom found cause to complain. It is unfortunate that I complain in my own back yard.
Not really worth it unless you want a Martini

The ambience is beautiful-- wood structuring and it does have that cozy ski lounge feel. You can also see where your food is coming from which I personally like. The food is a different story. I think it's a very overpriced-- I guess you're paying their rent (in Southpoint Mall)-- because the food is just okay. I do love the lobster dip, my chips were too salty this time, but everything else would be much better if it was cheaper. I haven't tried the steak so I can't comment on its worth. I had a delicious Martini special and have come here just for the martinis. The service was okay, a big factor is how long it takes to fill my half-full glass, and they came just in time. We had to wait awhile for the check but considering it was busy with a 15 min wait, I'll give him a break. It's convenient if you're in the area and fits a typical Mall restaurant. It's a lot like Champs. If you're destined for a mall restaurant Calif. Pizza Kitchen and Maggiano's are the two best with the best prices.
- Pros: ambience, martinis, lobster dip, convenient
- Cons: overpriced, parking
Good food, good drinks

The food at the restaurant--from the bread to the Cesar salad to the prime rib and potato--were delicious. This was a really good meal. Their drinks are also top notch. I really recommend this place. However, it is not an inexpensive restaurant. Most entrees are around $20. Many of their drinks are around $9. And, it is a chain. But overall I'm very happy with this place and looking forward to going back. (Do arrive early or you will wait.)
- Pros: Tasty
- Cons: Prices
Superb food fairly priced. Highly recommended

We've now been twice to this restaurant and we have been *very* satisfied with both the quality of food and the service.
The ribs are to die for and their fries are the best I have eaten.
The lighting could do with some adjustments to make it a little lighter, but they try to create a warm ambiance and it works quite well.
This is truly a great place to eat and it has now become our favorite restaurant when we fancy a treat.
The have both a lunch and dinner menu, which is a little more extensive.
There is one now at North Hills Mall, which is more convenient for us.
- Pros: Great food, great service and good menu chocies. Reasoanbly priced.
- Cons: Lighting was a little dark for us.
Excellent service & Menu

Good menu for any age, nice atmosphere for dinner/drinks or just dessert; wait and management/bar staff are professionally trained and take pride in their work; food is consistently excellent and if a busy or off night, they will 'make it right' for a great dining experience; been a regular for over 3 years and it's a place I can count on for a good evening/outing; call ahead seating is recommended at peak times; try their seasonal menus for real surprises/delicious; would politely recommend it's not a place to have smaller children for 'lengths of time' due to expected atmosphere while dining in this restaurant, great for family, but not 'family style budgeted eating' if you're looking to make it cheap (just being honest!)
- Pros: food, service, atmosphere
- Cons: call head for peak times
