Pretentious atmosphere -- mediocre food. The title says it all. The fireplace was nice - everything else was overpriced and of average quality
Amazing Service. The ambiance to Firebirds was cozy - sat next to a fireplace and had a feel of a Coloradian snowlodge. Had elk for the first time and their steak was very good. What amazed us was the service! The bar manager came over to meet with us, the waitress very attentive and when I left my purse by accident he ran all around the square to find us. The service there and after amazed us. highly recommended.
Not Worth Raving Over. We dined at the Firebirds in the new North Hills Mall. The ambience was quite nice; wood beamed ceilings, stuffed moose on the wall and an overall aroma that would make Emeril sit up and notice. The food, however, was just average. My steak was a bit chewy and the baked potato, which I ordered "loaded", was skimpy at best. The bartender needs to go back to school. Both my husband and myself ordered a mixed drink and neither one was very good. But overall, I enjoyed my visit and the waiter. He was very attentive to our needs and serviced us well. However, there was just not enough that intrigued us enough to make a return visit. Sorry guys.
excellent food and service. THE FOOD AND SERVICE ARE TOP NOTCH AT THE FIREBIRDS GRILL. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT WITH VERY FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE STAFF. THE FOOD WAS FRESH AS WELL AS BURSTING WITH FLAVORS THAT LIT MY TASTE BUDS UP. WE VISITED ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON AROUND 4 PM HAD NO WAIT PROMPT SEATING AND PROMPT SERVICE. THERE STAFF IS VERY ATTENTIVE TO YOUR NEEDS AND WANTS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO EVERY.
Oh the horror. I recently tried Firebirds restaraunt and found numerous problems, along with several reasons for a return visit. The problems I encountered seem to be caused by an overbearing corporation. The wait-staff, while nice and helpful, seemed to follow some formula as to what they would say. This formula made the meal feel even more like a mall experience. The food was excellent and once the "Spiels" were done, I could actually enjoy the service. The "credo", on the back of the menu, seems to have been written by an eight year old, if you get the chance make sure to check it out, there are numerous errors in puncutation and grammar. Overall I give the restaraunt a 7 with the main redeeming quality being the service. Grant was an excellent waiter.
Best in Town.
Firebirds is an excellent restaurant. The menu is huge and varied. Service is always prompt, friendly, and attentive. I'm a very picky eater, yet there are a dozen menu items I love - especially the BBQ half chicken, smothered in a sweet BBQ sauce that Firebirds makes from scratch.
Just don't try eating at Firebirds on a Friday or Saturday evening 6-9. The wait can be up to 1 hour, and there's not a lot of room or seating in the waiting area. You can wait outside - as long as it's not cold or raining.
Atmosphere is lovely - but a bit loud. With the open-style kitchen, the banging of dishes can raise the volume of conversation, making the restaurant pretty noisy. Tables are arranged at a good distance from each other, though, so you can still achieve a private, romantic experience.
Great Seasonings. The house cilantro-lime dressing, the aroma of fire grilled meats, and the well-seasoned meals make the dining experience worthwhile. I have found the servers to be prompt and attentive, even when I had the misfortune of sharing a meal with an obnoxious colleague who was rude and condescending to the wait staff.
Service with a smile?.
The food was ok but sometimes you can help add to the flavor of the menu if it is served with a smile.
The staff almost seemed like robots. Forget about telling me something you read in your company manual and tell me what you think. I have been there twice and it was the same experience. BLAH!
Whoever trains these people needs to concetrate on personal service not mechanical service.
I think I was served???. I took my family to Firebirds for a Saturday evening of dinning. Once I arrived, I was told to come back in an hour, so I did so. After an hour, I was told it would be only 20 more minutes to wait, but it ended-up being 45 minutes (poor service) and while waiting in the bar, the waitress kept wanting us to order more drinks. Well, we finished a bottle of wine, and we only did so to pass the 20 minutes away, but you could tell she wanted us to move on so she could collect more tips (very rude service). Well, finally we are given a table. Made our order, waited on the bread only to have the waiter to come back an say "we are out of the prime-rib". The waiter said they had "ran-out" of prime rib; this is at 7:45pm on a Saturday.
What a find!. Superb. I had, for one of the few times in North Carolina, a hamburger that hadn't been cooked to death. It was delicious and ample. My wife had salmon accompanied by a remarkable flash fried spinach that she marvelled at. We loved it and will certainly return.
