Went to Jimmy Johns on "Customer Appreciation" Day. Ordered by number with NO special directions. Got a sandwich that was LITERALLY turkey on bread. Nothing else. Called to see if they'd replace it and the response was "sure, but you have to wait in line again. We have lots of other customers." I posted to their Facebook page hoping that someone at their corporate office would care but all they did was delete my post. I guess they didn't care. This was more like anti-Appreciation day. My office is in the same building as their store and we eat there A LOT. Do they care? If you want a sandwich fast that may or may not be what you actually ordered and don't care about customer service and want to support a corporation that could care less as well, then feel free to patronize this establishment. If, on the other hand, you appreciate customer service, quality food and a caring business, I wouldn't waste even a dollar here. The impression we have of them was completely ruined on the one day that they wanted to "appreciate" their customers. If this is how they treat customers when they want to appreciate them, it's all downhill from there. Thank you, Jimmy Johns for caring about us, your customers, on your Customer Appreciation Day. Good thing Subway isnt far away!

Sub shop's inexpensive sandwiches appeal to everyone from business lunchers to late-night studiers.. In Short
Jimmy John Liautaud started his first sandwich shop in Charleston, Ill., in 1983. After mastering his bread recipe, he garnered a fan base through low prices and delivery service. Now, locations nationwide offer Turkey Toms on French bread or Italian Night Clubs on seven-grain bread. While delivery is still an option at many locations, most customers order at the counter. Sit at tables or booths beneath signs proclaiming "Free Smells" and "Subs So Fast, You'll Freak."

Good bread and quality meats = better than Subway. Jimmy John's describes itself as "The World's Greatest Gourmet Sandwiches". True? No - not really. They aren't bad though. The bread is chewy. Good french bread is supposed to be chewy; and if your elderly jaws can't chew so well anymore, Subway might be a better option for you.

One thing I did notice right away - good quality meat. The roast beef is a fine medium rare. I don't know what brand they are using, but the quality of the meats is right up there with Boar's Head. I do wish they'd use a little bit more of this meat on their sandwiches. Although the meat ratio was fine on the Italian "Vito" sandwich, it was lacking on the "Big John" roast beef, and they didn't have any horseradish sauce. Extra meat is available on any sandwich for $1.50 more.

The Tuna is Chicken of the Sea chunk and not White Albacore.

Subs are $4.50, the combo takes it to around $6. Service during the lunch rush (the only time I've been there) is fast., under 5 minutes from ordering to eating.

Besides subs they also have "Giant Club Sandwiches" for $5.50, but I haven't tried one of these yet.

Extras are cookies, chips and pickle spears. Coke fountain products.

Tired Jaws. The bread was so tough my jaw muscles were killing me. The employees didn't mention a choice of bread being available. The menu was confusing. I got a #11 Country Club but I don't know if it is what they call "giant". It wasn't that big to me. There wasn't much meat in it either. After having my sandwich laid on the top of the cash register I was on my own to find a bag and put my lunch in it. I'd rather go to Subway. $6.44 with chips and large drink seems high.

The Smells Alone are Worth the Price!. Jimmy Johns is my favorite sub place and I wish I went to UNC so I could go there whenever I wanted! The smells alone are wonderful - I happen to love the smell of fresh bread and every time I have gone, that is what they have smelled like. The prices are reasonable (especially on a college student's budget) and the food is great. I bring all my friends there whenever I end up in Chapel Hill! It is a good place to chill with friends, but seating is limited to 2 or 4 person tables.
