Dysfunctional Service

The previous four reviews are obviously for El Corral located around the corner from Meelo. Meelo is Italian/Greek not Mexican.

We arrived for dinner and sat ourselves since no one was in front to seat us, at a table with two dirty glasses, and were completely ignored for 10 minutes. Another party came in and were given menus, so I got up and told the waitress that we had arrived before them, and still had no menus and a table that needed busing.

Our Greek salad was cooked from swimming in salad dressing, I'm guessing since lunch.

The entrees were tasty, but we were never brought any bread. We ordered coffee and desert and were served desert and our check. I had to ask for the coffee a second time.

We won't be going back.

Best Mexican food and service

Wow this place is the best! I have taken many friends and work colleagues and they all say the same, The food is great, the service is quick and the drinks are.....well really good drinks!

I have been going here for years and tried others but really.....nothing tops this spot!

Best authentic Mexican food in the Triangle!

OK, so I am from California, I must say, I do know good Mexican food. For the last eight years I have been disgusted my the dumb-downed so called Mexican food restaurants I have tried: watery beans, bland rice, awful picio di gallo...well, I stubled upon this little gem, El Corral, and love it! Great staff, service, descent prices. Their picio di gallo has cilantro in it-yay! Beans are thick and tasty, and the rice is savory with veggies. Aroz con pollo, taquitos, and by far, the best frozen margaritas ever, even my friends agree...hands down winner!

An Undescovered Gem

El Corral consistently impresses me. Their pico de gallo is the best in the Triangle. Their green sauce is tastey, especially on their Burro ala Roqueta. The roasted pork is delicious. And then there's the choriqueso: white cheese sauce with a hefty portion of chorizo... deadly but delicious!

Awesome Food, Awesome Price!

My wife and I had the good fortune to stumble across El Corral a few weeks after moving to Durham, and we have been frequent patrons ever since. The wait staff is friendly and fast, and their food is out of this world. The cuisine has a more authentic mexican flair than many of the other places out there, and the hole-in-the-wall feel that makes you want to come back for more. The prices are low, and the portions are enormous. Give El Corral a try, you won't regret it!
