Horrible!. I was only 2 bites into my dinner when I went bolting to the bathroom. I sent it back and they sent the exact same dish back. When I asked for a refund and they refused to comp my meal. Never again.

Terrible! Stay away from Dales!. I decided to try Dales for the first time and really wish I read the reviews before going. Tonight I ordered the Saag, Pakara, Naan, Lentil Soup ($42). The Saag was like cheap cream spinach. I spit out the first bite. The naan was burned and the Pakaras were old and reheated. It was terrible. When we called back to complain they screened our number, SO, we called from another number and picked up on the first ring. We just called to complain and didn't demand anything except to be respected as a customer. The guy argued with us and didn't apologize once. Really sad. Do yourself a favor and go down the road to Sitar or Saffron's.

Excellent. I just tried this place for the first time. I had take-out. I find very few decent Indian restaurants around which saddens me because I grew up in the UK where we were used to GOOD Indian food and LIVED on it-(Huge Indian population).

This food is EXCELLENT. For the first time in the USA, where the palate is not so used to this type of cuisine, I have found a restaurant that actually trims their meat properly. I cannot stand finding fat and gristle in food. It puts me off and I cannot finish. I had lamb and chicken and both were fantastic. The sauces were nice and hot and tasty too. Good naan bread also. I can't say enough how much I enjoyed the food from Dales...WELL DONE...

very so-so. I've tried the buffet at Dale's twice and was disappointed both times. The food was bland, the meat fatty. In fairness, I didn't order from the menu so I don't known if that's any better, but I would definitely stay away from the buffet. There are too many good alternatives close by.

Is the popularity lowering the quality?. Has the quality gone down?

I used to love this restaurant last year. When I ordered a Mutter paneer for carry out in Jan 2009, what I got was a mediocre fair. The gravy was thin and the taste was no way near the nicer ones I have tasted. Price remains same or higher! I hope they improve.

Worst experience. After reading these reviews i went to their buffet on sunday. The food was okay and customer service was okay too. I got the bill in which i was charged normally for the buffet, but when i look at my credit card statement it shows that my card was charged twice for 2 different amounts !!! In all i ended up paying more than $40 for two people for sunday buffet !!! After contacting them they refuse to remove the charge with no explanation !!!!!!!! I think this was the most expensive buffet i have ever had for such a mediocre food !!!

Great food with best prices in town. I have been eating for three years at Dales , love their food & service. prices are best compare to some places. We eat on the patio cannot beat the experience. I was there today with my friend & loved it

Staff knows what we drink & has it ready ,so friendly people. I would recommend to all .

Mediocre at best. I've been eating at Dale's lunch buffet every once in a while for the past 2 years or so, and 80% of the time the food tastes as if it came from a jar or a can. Some days are OK, the Vegetable Korma and the Chicken Makhini are always good, as is the Lentil Dal, but they are not always in the buffet. Additionally, the buffet pricing seems rather unfair. It is $7.99 for the buffet, but when I went in to do take-out for a very small amount of food, the weighed the nan (they bring it from the kitchen and wrap it) with the food and it cost me $10.

Great Indian food, with just perfect ambience. Our family dinning place .Dales has a great atmosphere for all age people, our family just lves their food as it is so fresh made per our prefrence. The service is freindly & on time. YOu have to try their weekend buffet with mimosas My mother love the wine list they have as it fits our pocket. Ck Tikka masala is just awesome. If you like Indian try this claen place where waiters know you by name.

The name doesn't sound Indian, but the fiery flavors convince otherwise.. In Short
A small, sparsely decorated dining room delivers gratifying, sometimes sweat-inducing meals. Duke students gab noisily from the booths while groups congregate around the lunchtime buffet. Best bet is the buffet, where you can sample several of the 50 entrees on the menu. If ordering a la carte, opt for the Chicken Tikka Masala--roasted chicken in a creamy tomato sauce, or Sag Gosht--lamb cooked in a spinach sauce.
