BAD!!!. July 25, 2010 - Servie was horrible. Worse, the food was gross. It was 7 PM, and the food had been out a long time. The corn was disgusting looking, and the steaks (or whatever it was) looked dry and days old. No one was available at the carving station at all. The food was slopped all over and mostly cold or dried out. There were plenty of employees around, talking to each other but no one cleaning up the mess. No effort to fill empties, and if it wasnt eaten it appears to be just left there to rot. Be barely ate anything, although we tried a number of items. The next day we had diaharhia. Parting gift I suppose. Couldnt even get the drink order right, and never returned to the table. No A/C and a filthy place. Clearly looking to collect money with no pride or care. A perfect place for Ramsey to tear apart. I* would write more but I have to make another run to the toilet.

Good Southern Cooking. The food is traditional southern and is not cooked to order. The staff is friendly but doesn't have time to cater to special requests. What they do serve is Carolina style barbeque, brunswick stew, collard greens, okra, and sweet tee. They make it exactly as they would at home and it is as authentic as a pickup truck. If you want heated plates and fine linen you should head to Crook's Corner while the rest of us enjoy good food at a great price.

Don't waste your time.. Got the buffet at 6pm. Food was cold and appeared to have been sitting out most of the day. Chicken livers were burned to a crisp. There were items on the bar I couldn't even identify. (I think one was neckbone soup.) It's not the same restaurant it was when it was in the mall a few years ago. I won't be back.

DISGUSTING. Went there on a Sunday where they had a buffet. For $10, you get a wide range of gross, greasy, COLD food. We went in as out-of-towners hoping for some good traditional NC bar-b-que. What we got was awful service and COLD food. We went in at 11:30am, 30 minutes after the opening of the buffet. We piled our plates high with food, eager to devour it. We sat down and took bites from every portion we grabbed from the bar and didn't put anything into our mouths that was remotely warm. We told our server of the situation and she walked away rather quickly. She later returned and told us that the food just need to be stirred, which was code for food that was day old and just warmed up. We were there 30 minutes after the opening of the buffet - it didn't seem like the food should ALREADY be cold. Our server made us feel like it started hours ago which was why the food was cold. Her explanation disgusted us to such an extreme that we couldn't even go back for another plate or continue eating. We were hoping they would do the right thing and tell us we didn't have to pay for our meal. This was not the case. Without a manager on site, they told us they had no authority to give us any discount and since we DID plate our food, we would have to be charged. So $25 later and 3 bad mouthfuls of awful food, I will not be returning there. Can't say much for their day to day food, but definitely stay away from the weekend buffets. They leave nothing to be desired.

Best BBQ in Durham.. The Food is some of the Best in town. I love the people there they are always so helpful and happy. I wish they would be the crab legs back. But for $7 for lunch and 11 for dinner the price and food cant be beat.

Horrible!. This was a great disappointment. I had eaten here in the past before it reopened and loved the food. My experience today was the worst, a waste of time and money! The food was not hot at all, the fish was fried too hard, the mac and cheese taste watered down, the barbecue was awful. Many of the items on the bar looked as if they had been there all day - I was there at 12:15pm for lunch. The only good things were the sweet tea and hush puppies.

Get the hot bar. Excellent service, good variety of food - not just chicken & pork, very good food and a very good price. If they charged customers by how much they weighed, they'd make a fortune!
