PhydeauxDressed to the K-nines. Fantastic selection of foods, treats, toys, beds, collars and every other accessory you can spoil your dog with. Every good dog ... and even the occasional bad dog deserves something from Phydeaux.
Great value, great community feel, Pets love to chat here, Unique toys, food, art, bowls, hardware for pets. Excellent selection of whole ingredient feeds for cats and dogs: mine are on Innova EVO, Eagle Pack Holistic, and California Natural (2 Natura products), which I tried with little samples from Phydeaux (in addition to many other samples over 2 yr period)! Found foods that help reduce their skin/respiratory/GI probs, palatable, and varied enough to not be boring. Also feed raw, and a couple staff members were very informative when I started out, since a couple of my pets' first vets were nutrition-ignorant and anti-raw. Great selection of hardy, durable Ruffwear slip leads and packs (we hike and pack a lot), Silverfoot collars (which I call hardware/jewelry depending on function: their wide variety fits both categories!), flying discs, bouncyballs, waterballs, bowls, yummy condensed shampoos and bling for the kitties as well. Beds galore to look at, let your pet sit on to see if appropriate size :] then buy. Water fountain always available, and the staff are suckers for old sweet gals, crazy young boys, and everything in between! You must try this place out! Prices are actually comparable or less compared to large, commercial, poor service stores, and Phydeaux knowledge base is great! As usual, though, take any advice based on pet health and nutrition with a grain of salt, and educate yourself thoroughly with clinical studies, many confimed successes, research, etc.
huge selection of pet food. I was looking for a store in the area that sold raw pet food. I found Phydeaux listed as a distributor so I sent an email to the store asking them about it. To my surprise, the owner wrote me back a long, and helpful, email. Even though it is a bit of a drive for me from Durham, I trekked out there on a Sunday afternoon (yes they have Sunday hours). When I got there, the staff was very friendly and mostly helpful (nobody told me that cats being switched to a raw diet have trouble digesting lamb, as a result I have a huge bag of lamb that my cats get violently ill from). I spent about an hour in the store deciding. I would recommend doing a little research before you go, especially if you want to switch your pet?s diet, because they have a LOT of different brands. The atmosphere was homey?there seemed to be many regulars, many customers were chatting with each other and the staff addressed them by name. I even had another customer come over and give me her view on the food I was looking at. I will return to this store?maybe not as often as if they were in Durham?but they are worth the drive. It is a cute store, with a huge selection (especially given the size of the store). Plus, you have to love their clever name.
