Great People watching while sipping coffee. Where else can you sip coffee in a comfortable environment people watching? Sure the coffee is a bit pricey, but you're paying for location and name recognition. Besides the coffee isn't bad and neither is the staff.
Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Coffee from around the world, plus espresso drinks, coffee by the pound, baked goods, ice-blended drinks and more.
Copycat business model without the quality. Why try to imitate that famous Seattle coffeehouse without being better at least in one category? Caribou should differentiate itself by doing at least one thing better. The pastries are absolutely awful, especially the cookies. The coffee isn't very good, mine tasted burnt or like it went through a dirty filter. And the ad campaign has a negative first impact -- it looks like someone is lost in a storm on Mt. Everest. With the cute reindeer logo, why not have something more visually appealing than a cold-gray mountain? It doesn't evoke that lodge feeling, except maybe making you thankful you're not the one lost on that mountain. The ambience is decent though--there's plenty of places to sit.
Great ambience. Caribou is one of my favorite local hangout spots, and I'm not even a coffee drinker! They have very comfortable chairs, and a fire going in the winter, very lodge-like. I enjoy going there with my boyfriend and talking/reading. He does enjoy their coffee, and I usually get a water.
