Return policy is a joke. Ive shopped at Banana for several years based on the quality of clothes. I bought a few polo type shirts from there about 6 weeks ago and had washed them a few times in cold water/hang dry and of the 5 I have 2 shrunk. I attempted to take them back but was denied the return. The cashier stated "the shirts are cotton they will shrink even in cold water." I spend a lot of money at Banana every year for good quality clothing and I simply wanted an exchange. Ill never shop here again based on this experience. I cut up my card and went over to J. Crew.
Convenient, one-stop shopping for those who want pieces with long shelf lives..
In Short
Epitomizing office casual wear, Banana Republic started out as a small vendor of safari-inspired clothing before it was purchased by the Gap in 1983. Since then, it has grown into a brand-name behemoth that one-ups the Gap in quality, status and price--but not necessarily creativity. The core of the collection is constant: versatile staples such as khakis, button-down shirts, denim, T-shirts and jackets in solid, organic colors. Lengths and fabrics change slightly according to the season. Some stores have expanded into bedding, fragrance, bath and beauty, and home-furnishing lines.
