Tips for Avalon Nail Salon

July 30, 2012

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL! I literally am still in the salon waiting for my toenails to dry. I joined city search specifically to post this review. A woman in the chair across from me was on the phone the entire time, talking loudly. When I asked Jen to ask her to get off the phone, I was told that the manager was "not there". Then when I went to pay I was told it was $6 more than what I was told earlier. They said a French pedi was $34. Then the nail tech asked if I wanted callous removal treatment. She said it would be $40. When i went to pay they asked for $46! I know $6 isn't a lot. But it's the principal... Especially since they wouldn't fix the cell phone issue. Never going back.

you get what you pay for. Two days in advance, I scheduled 3 pedicures (2 daughters and me) for a Saturday afternoon. We arrived on time and had to wait 25 minutes to get seated. Two of the three nail technicians continually looked over their shoulders at the clock the whole time they were doing our pedicures and all three people rushed through the pedicure process so two of the three pedicures were not very well done and the third one was average. Avalon has one the lowest prices in town on pedicures and they appear to be about quantity not quality. We did get what we paid for-$28 each for poor quality pedicures in a hurried environment. I have had much better pedicures for not much more money and will not come back to Avalon again.

Decent Pedicures. I've been to Avalon four times so far for pedicures only and they've been good, but not great. I've had a different person each time and they all did things a little differently. Some don't use the toe separators properly and I had one toenail's polish messed up before I even got out of the chair. Now I ask for them to put them on between each toe and make sure they're actually separating my toes. The foot and leg massages with the pedicures are really basic; I've had much better ones at other places. Overall the polish lasts well and they have a good selection of colors. The salon is nice and the staff helpful and efficient.

great services. last week after dinner across from the Cheese Cake Factory we (4 of us) feel like getting pedicures done badly., we stopped by late at Avalon it's about time for closing, but they are so nice to take us . and without getting mad for not going home late, they did such a great job and take time on the pedi. they are funny...hilarious...friendly...we had a wonderful time there...definitly making another visit again...hopefullly not this late again:)..

Low Quality Manicures. This is the second time I have visited this nail salon for a manicure. I went yesterday afternoon and had a french manicure and brow waxing done. The brow waxing was fine, but the manicure was not. The polish started chipping by 8pm last night. The manicure was done at 3pm, so if that let's you know how long it lasted. This morning, the polish has started to completely peel off. I will NEVER have another manicure done there again. I'm just trying to figure out if I should go back and have it redone. I did pay $20 for it!
