Best Sushi EVER!. I work near Tsunami and have the pleasure of eating there at least once a week. The place is small and quaint, but don't expect a trendy, hip place like Mura in North Hills. The sushi chef is awesome - very friendly, but a hard worker as well. She is the hostess, server and chef wrapped into one. Her sushi is amazing - creative, beautiful, and delicious. Don't miss the ginger salad to start out with - awesome. Favorite rolls spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, yellow tail, TNT...the list could go on.

Only downside I can come up with is that sometimes you do have to wait for your food since the lunch crowd can grow pretty big on some days. (I've never been for dinner, so don't know what she does in terms of waitstaff.) I promise though - the wait is so well worth it, I don't think anyone will be disappointed.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Sushi and Japanese hibachi grill in the Falconbridge shopping center; Daily sushi specials, early-bird specials; Open for lunch. Reasonable prices.

Best Spicy Tuna Rolls!. I just moved into the area and needed to find a suchi restaurant my husband and could enjoy ASAP! I found an ad for Tsunami, so we decided to check it out. I never thought a suchi erstaurant could top my favorite place in Largo - but their rolls are AWESOME! Best Spicy Tuna Roll EVER! Plus, we ordered a roll we discovered during our honeymoon - the Caterpillar. It dissolves in you rmouth it is so good. Plus they have two kinds of plum wine - most places only offer one.

The inside was real nice - perfect for a date. And the service was outstanding. The $$$ is a little more than we are used to - after 5 rolls and four drinks we paid $80. Normally it would cost us $40. But it was worth it for a nice date night. I would highly recommend it.

Best sushi in town. I have been tried many sushi places around RTP. Tsunami has a casual and quite dinning area with friendly service, fresh fish and list of things to fit anyone's budget and taste. The sushiya is highly experienced and makes beautiful sushi plates to enhance the beauty of this eatable art. This is the one for me.

Bad food and expensive. I had a horrible dining experience here.... The sushi rolls were tiny and looked as if they were cut with a dull blade. The amount of sushi we got was incredibly small and yet they were expensive. The inside of the restaurant looks like a fast food joint. It was a disappointing experience.

More items added. This place has more than Sushi. I tried noodles, dumplings, and especially the Hibachi, they are all so good. I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Best Sushi Value. Tsunami is a wonderful sushi restuarant. The sushi rolls are superb and each roll is a lot of food for the money. The sushi chef is very friendly and generous. It is more casual than some sushi restuarants, but that is also a plus. Service was very attentive and all the sushi I have eaten there has been extrememly fresh. My favorites are the Aqua Roll and Tsunami Roll. The rolls are all very creative, plus there are the usual rolls. I HIGHLY recommend Tsunami if you are looking for a good sushi restuarant in the area.

Too much vinegar and shouting .... The atmosphere here is lacking for a sit-down sushi restaurant. We waited for quite some time for someone to notice we were there and seat us. I orderd a squid salad and a sushi combo while my friend ordered beef yoki soba. He liked his yoki soba. The squid salad was very good, although a little heavy on the vinegar. I didn't mind the vinegar until vinegar was all I could taste in my sushi combo. The rice had so much vinegar that I ended up eating the inside of my rolls and leaving the rice. Also, other items on the combo were overly pickeled with vinegar. In addition to the not-so-good sushi, the sushi chef began shouting (in English) at one of the waitresses, complaining that she did not record sushi orders correctly. It was very unnerving and it greatly dissrupted our lunch. We will not be returning.

Excellent Sushi additon. Tsunami is an excellent addition to the Chapel Hill Sushi scene, a scene that is sorely lacking. The fish is fresh, the rolls are generous, and the prices won't kill you. Their eel is second to none.
