Great food, spotty service. The problem with Talulla is it's just so busy on the weekends, resulting in less than stellar service by its waitstaff. However, I keep going back because the food simply rocks. I love the mezze platter - mixed appetizers such as hummus, baba ghanouj, lentil spread, and more. I also love the Turkish pizzas, and their baklava is to die for. If you go with just one or two other people, call ahead and ask to sit in the lounge - you'll be sitting on cushions on the floor, but it's so cozy and romantic in there!

Strange. The food was decent. I don't have any experience in Turkish cuisine, but it is not my favorite restaurant. The food was very foreign, not a comfortable interpretation of the cuisine for a beginnner.

Didn't get to stay for the food. The hostess ignored us at first. We were told a 20 minute wait. We ended up waiting a total of 45 minutes, and for about the last 20 minutes of that time frame, there were 2 other tables open (but they sat 4, we had 2). The hostess actually has to ask us if we were waiting for a table. Are you kidding me? only 3 other groups come in after us and you can't remember who needs a table?! Anyway, we finally got sat at a cocktail table. Immediately the manager comes over to us and asks me to move my chair around to the other side of the cocktail table and for my husband to scoot further along the bench so as to make room for opening up the DJ booth. Had a longer review, but was too many words for this. point is --> we left.

try the turkish pizza. Overall a very satisfying dining experience. It took a couple minutes to be seated. Low-lighting and nice decor lent itself to a pleasant ambiance. The bread was very good and glasses of wine were half-price the night we went. My husband's fish casserole appetizer and beef kebabs were "okay" but we both agreed that the Turkish pizza is the reason to come. The pizza I ordered had spicy Turkish beef pepperoni with several different cheeses, including Turkish cheese, and an egg (a la francais) right on top. When it arrived, it looked like a huge boat--definitely very tasty and filling for only $9. There are several different types of pizza to choose from to suit your taste. The servers were very attentive to our needs. So if for no other reason, go and try their delicious pizza (and enjoy the warm bread AND warm ambiance while you're at it!).

Amazing food. I do not understand where the other reviewer ( down memory lane) is coming from. Not only the food was excellent but the service and the drinks were superb. I would consider this restaurant my favorite in hte entire triangle. The food was incredibly fresh, the meats just melted in your mouth. I do not know where they buy that amazing lamb but it is out of this world. I later found out that they merinated for 2 dsays in a secret special sauce. We along with a group of 8 stayed late after finding out that there was a dance party starting later. The metamorphases occured from a full fledged vibrant restaurant into a dance club. Wow the party was on..We danced until very late enjoying the faboulous drink specials that the very curtious bar staff had made for us. Amzing time. What a discovery...

The decor as well as the food might best be described as ethnically eclectic. Bringing together the flavors of Africa, the Middle East and the Mediterranean, this is a great spot to try new foods. Never had a Turkish pizza? Settle around one of the floor tables (pillows provided, of course) and share some of the tapas-like dishes. Don't miss the homemade pide--a Turkish pita--topped with haydari, a yogurt spread made with walnuts, dill and garlic.

A trip down memory lane. Originally growing up in the Balkans, I couldn't wait to go to Talulla's for a taste of years gone by. It was dark inside, perhaps to set a romantic mood, or maybe to mask some of the patched up interior work. The dinner started on a high note, the bread and dipping oil were fantastic, and I had a ginger martini which was also good. I suppose my expectations were high, but the best way to sum up my thoughts on the food is that it tasted like what my grandmother made with leftover meat the NEXT day, after the real meal. My dish was definitely sub par, but if I ordered my gf's, I would have to send it back and order something else (and this is coming from a european). To sum it up: good drinks, decent ambiance, but bad food.

A Great Dining Experience. After reading the "mithcpage" review expectations weren't high, but despite the warning, we found no low tables with floor cushions, no dripping ceiling, no greasy food. The only "downer" was a lengthy wait at the door. When a "four-top" was the first table available, we were told they didn't want to give it to a twosome. A party of four arrived and was promptly seated, but the very next table -- also for four -- was given to us, so we were appeased. And pleased! She had the seafood pizza, I had the filet mignon cous-cous -- both modestly priced, scrumptious, and copious, the cous-cous as good as any I've had anywhere in the world, complemented by delicious warm bread and dipping oil. (Ask for the recipe!) The wait staff was pleasant, informed, and quick to please. What more could one ask? All in all, a superb dining experience.

Mopping Water Off the Ceiling!!. Do NOT go to Talulla's. EVER. It was, BY FAR, the worst dining experience. First, no two-person tables were available, so rather than seating us at one of several larger tables, they offered the 'lounge' (a tiny platform with 2 pillows on the floor and a dilapidated foot stool as a table) or sitting at a 12" cafe table. After 20 minutes of no service, we finally seated ourselves at one of the several open tables and had to flag down a waitress just to order. To make matters worse, the food was oily, overpriced, and the ceiling was dripping right above our table. To my horror, one of the waiters came over and - literally - mopped the water off right above my head (and our dinners)! I went here based on my date's recommendation - needless to say, I was not impressed with his taste.

Delicious, but expensive. I cannot rave enough about the service - the staff is always available, very friendly and insanely knowledgeable. The food is consistently delicious and prepared with attention to detail. The menu is extensive and accommodating to just about every type of diet. The only complaint is the price: most 'little dishes' start at $7 with entrees in the mid teens. It was about $30/person with drinks. Won't stop me from going back, though! Do make reservations - the place is always packed!
