Slayer on the box rox.. Awesome jukebox, high ceilings and cool people. The tall ceiling and good ventilation make putting up with smoke tolerable. This is probably the best place to go see "the game" in chapel hill.. since it's downtown and not uptight. This place probably has the most reasonably priced drinks around.
Beats the "Hangover Saloon!". This is the best bar in the World. I like candy bars, nudie bars, monkey bars...Dude, I even like salad bars, but no bar is greater than the Reservoir Bar!
Great Music. The Resevoir is a great bar off the "main scene" in Chapel Hill. Here you don't have to wade through underage wannabes to get to the bar. The shows they have there sample real musicians and not cover bands so frequently found on Franklin Street. I highly recommend this bar not only for the great shows but also basketball games (on the huge screen) as well as a drink after work.
Pool, Darts, cheap booze and good people. This bar is fantastic. They now have a full size pool table on the second floor, along with a regulation dart board set up. The staff is top notch, and the drinks are strong and inexpensive. On top of that, every sunday they open at 1pm, have an incredible bloody mary bar set up, and show movies on a huge projector screen all day. There really is no better place on earth.
The only bar in Chapel Hill worth going to.. I love drinking all too much. Reservoir has a friendly staff, the membership fee is a one-time charge, the bartenders know their drinks, the beer is cheap, there are no stupid gimmicks (Hell's Porn and dance parties, Nightlight's god-awful music), and there are no sorority/fraternity people. Sunday Bloody Mary and a Movie afternoons rock. Occassionally they will have FREE live music and pass a hat around to get money for out-of-town bands. This bar is the best-kept secret in Carrboro.
not a billiards bar.
a nice bar overall--but not a good place to shoot pool. the (THE!) pool table is crammed against the staircase on one side, and in the path of anyone going from the entrance to the bar.
this patron recommends they move it upstairs. just a thought.
Look for the beer-and-sickle logo to find the newest hipster dive bar in Carrboro..
In Short
Those who missed the Go! Room 4 live-music venue will be pleased to know a replacement has arrived. Offering an equal amount of beer, wine, mixed drinks with a dank and smoky atmosphere, a mixed crowd of after-work lawyers in khakis and indie fans meet here for the conviviality, as well as the most obscure jukebox in the Triangle. All handmade metal bar and furnishings were crafted by a local artisan.
