Never going back!. I went there after a Durham Bulls game last weekend. My friends just got engaged so we were ready to continue the celebration. We went inside Tyler's and got a round of drinks. Inside was pretty dead, so we went outside. We saw the tables in the front of the restaurant, but noticed there was a "please see hostess for seating" sign. My friend went inside and spoke to the hostess. The hostess said it was fine that we sat there. As we all started to sit down, a very rude waitress came over and told us we couldn't sit there unless we were eating dinner. We explained that we spoke to the hostess (she knew we just got drinks and wanted to sit down), but the rude waitress continued to tell us we couldn't sit there even though we told her someone else said we could. She said there was "first come, first serve" seating around the corner. So, we hung around until there was a free table. After sitting down for a few minutes (at a table with 5 dirty glasses), we decided that we were actually pretty hungry. I saw a waiter walking by, picking up stuff off the tables, so I asked him if we could see a menu. He said that "this section is closed" and if we wanted any service, we would have to go to the bar. EXCUSE ME! He didn't even offer to drop off a menu nor did he take the dirty glasses. He just took the condiments from the table. This was the worst experience I have ever had. I can't believe that they would treat anyone that way. Especially since the proximity to the Bulls Stadium... you would think they would welcome the business in an otherwise quiet area. Thanks Tyler's for ruining a great night for my friends that just got engaged. We are still outraged.…
great food, great drinks. The menu had a good variety of options on it. Everything our group ordered tasted great! I LOVE the garlic fries! Great beer selection. Service was not amazing. Not terrible... but almost rude at times. Took FOREVER to get our bill.…
Great beer selection, not so great food.
Tyler's Taproom has a great selection of beers. The restaurant has several different areas, so even when it's crowded, it doesn't feel overwhelming.
But the food was not that good for the price. I had the beef brisket. It's described as "slow smoked." A properly cooked brisket gets tender, practically falls apart and is easy to cut with a fork. This one was not. The three slices were all tough and chewy. I had trouble cutting them with a knife. The baked beans were also on the tough side.
I ate at the outdoor bar. Apparently Tyler's has had problems with people walking off because their policy is to hold your credit card at the bar. When I was ready to pay up and leave, they brought me someone else's credit card. I'm glad I noticed.…
Will definitely be back!. Went for the first time before a Bull's game and had a great experience! It was a little loud, but the overall atmosphere was very warm and inviting. Looking around us everyone was having a good time including kids! That's right, kids! Tyler's is obviously very kid-friendly. I had the pork special and my husband had the carolina burger. Both were awesome! It was not a hard sell to get my husband to go with the variety of beers that they offer (all of which are served in their own glass!). I only wish we had one in Raleigh! I definitely recommend going if you haven't been before.…
This owner deserves what he gets. I would not recommend eating or working at Tyler's Taproom. Recently a manager was fired for not reporting to work on his one and only DAY OFF. He frequently worked 50 and 60+ work weeks over 10, 11, and sometimes 12 days straight and they paid him NEXT TO NOTHING. In fact, all of his hours added up might get him about $4.00 an hour. When he didn't answer his phone because he was enjoying his day off, he returned to work where he was fired on the spot. Basically these people deserve what they get and I hope it's bankruptcy!…
