Excellent meal on the spur of the moment

We went to Azure as a spontaneous decision, and arrived about 7 on a Tuesday. It wasn't busy. Tuesday wines are 50% off - we had a Vieux Telegraphe Telegramme Chateauneuf du Pape for $24 - heck of bargain! My wife and I chose the same dishes: arugula salad with dates & manchego shavings - excellent! Followed by "Duck Two Ways" - a superb confit with mushrooms, and sliced duck breast grilled. The confit was better - and went perfectly with the CNDP. Closed with an excellent lemon tarte (shared). Precise, calm service. An unexpectedly excellent meal -

Don't bother. I warned you ahead of time.

Don't waste your time here. I would recommend McDonalds over this place. Ate their twice on dates, and both times the orders came out wrong. Nothing altered from the menu. Service was awful, as servers were not familiar with the menu, which didn't matter since they spent most time talking at the bar and ignoring us. Food was average at best and nothing to brag about. Get a pizza next door if in the Meadowmont area, you'll have a much better meal and experience overall.

Blue Heaven!

I had dinner here last night with my girlfriend and it was outstanding! We have been looking for a place a little closer to where we live that is on par with our favorite Franklin establishments and we found it. We sat out on the romantic little patio on a gorgeous night and had one of the best meals we can remember. The atmosphere and service were great but the food was the highlight. We started with the sesame fried oysters with grilled ramps and truffle horseradish aioli which was delicious. For the entree, I had the duck confit with saffron risotto and haricot verts. The duck literally melted in my mouth. My girlfriend had the pan seared scallops with sweet corn, shiitakes, asparagus and a ginger lime vinaigrette. The presentation of the dishes was very cool, but the flavor combinations stole the show. Our waiter told us that they have a new chef. My compliments, we will return very soon.
