Tips for Home Depot

Worst customer service. I bought a dishwasher with installation. I paid $100 for installation. When they came, they were unable to install because "they were not licensced plumbers" and were not allowed to connect pipes together. They didn't even have the right adapters to do it anyway. They left saying I would be credited with installation, but did not leave any insulation material. I saw the adapter I needed on my old dishwasher and removed it before they hauled it away. I then installed it in 30 minutes.

Do not buy appliances from Home Depot. They should never have gotten into that busness, if they are not prepared to employ competent.staff, and they should not be selling installation under false pretences.

Bad customer service. I decided to buy a Bosch tankless water heater, but before purchasing it online, I both went to the store and called the store, to check and then double-check that Home Depot could do the installation. Both times I was told they could, and the second time, when I called, I was even given a quote of $998. So I went ahead and ordered the heater. When it arrived, I went down to the store to arrange installation, and found out that they do not, in fact, install tankless water heaters, and the information I had been given was completely wrong. I was told to call a local plumber instead. The local plumber said it would cost between $2000 and $4000 to install the tankless heater and it may not be possible to do it at all, depending on my gas line. Had I known this, I never would have ordered it! Now I am stuck with a water heater I can't use, and the store will not even take it back. I have to pay over $80 for shipping. Needless to say, this is the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time.
