This is the place to tan.... I love Planet Beach at Renaissance. The staff, management, and owner are great. They have knowledge to help you pick the right beds and products to get super tan! Tan here if you want to feel relaxed, welcomed, and have a clean tanning experience!

Watch out for this place!. I went to Planet Beach Renaissance to start tanning for an event.

I'm from VA and have had a very hard time finding a tanning salon that was as nice as what I was use to. Planet Beach seemed to fit the bill. I went in, got a tour of the beds from the manager, signed a contract and started tanning on a regular basis. I LOVED the beds they offered and even though the prices were a little high, it was worth it to me.



All of the staff was very friendly, MINUS THE MANAGER (I think his name was Scott)! The ONLY time he was friendly to me was the first day that I came in while he was trying to get me to sign a contract. Every other time that I encountered him, he barely said hello, or even cracked a smile. As a manager, you are suppose to be personable and pleasant and this guy was far from it. Many times I would come in and he would have his friends and/or boyfriend sitting on the couches and be carrying on a conversation, completely ignoring me (the customer!). It wasn't just one time, it was at least 4 or 5 times that I'd come in and it'd be like social hour for him.

As I said before, the other staff members were extremely friendly, professional and knew their stuff!

I ended up canceling my contract and taking my business elsewhere. If you go here, try to go in the late evening since the manager was seldom there after 6pm.

I've worked in customer service my entire life and would never even imagine treating customers the way this guy treated me. Perhaps the owners should take a look at him since I'm not the only one on here who's complained about him!!!

Great Place, Great Staff, Great Sun!. I have been going to Planet Beach-Renaissance for years. The staff has always been SUPER WONDERFUL. Life gets hectic as we all know - They always make it a point to try and fit you in or make it as easy as possible to schedule an appointment at your conveience.

And for blogger one-Anywhere you go that has memberships and packages has different pricing! DUH! If you're new or a long time customer that has a package your price may be a little less than the customer that comes once a month. Would you expect anything different. It is a business!

Anyway, off the soap box. For all those looking for somewhere you want to relax and always feel welcome. . . . . This IS the place.

Informing and Friendly. I have had a wonderful experience with Planet Beach Contempo Spa Renaissance. I was hesitant about Planet Beach after reading the reviews. However, I decided to give it a try, as its location was unbelievably convenient for me. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted and informed of all of the options Planet Beach had to offer. I expressed what I was hoping to get from my Planet Beach experience and Shea was more than helpful in answering all of my questions and providing me with various options that would work. I left Planet Beach extremely satisfied on my first visit. I have been going to Planet Beach for two months now, and the service has consistently been outstanding. They have gone above and beyond to get to know me as a customer and I greatly appreciate the personal service. I would highly recommend Planet Beach Contempo Spa Renaissance to anyone that is looking for outstanding, helpful, personal service at a clean and inviting spa.

Best place around to tan. The best place around the area to tan. I drive 15 minutes to tan there, and I live 1 mile from another store. It's seriously that good. Unlike blogger 1, I have never had a problem with anyone that works there. Scott is a great guy, and from what I have seen, knows most of his customers on a first name and favorite bed basis. Never heard anyone that works there be rude or anything short of courteous with a customer. So don't buy the b.s. It's a great place with great people.

A great place to get a tan. I was shown around today and helped out by the manager. He was very informative and explained to me the best packages in a simple manner. I mentioned to him that I forgot to print a coupon off the internet, but he honored it anyways. It was clean inside. Smelled good (candle burning).

I was happy with my results and even got a little color on my first time with a sample bronzer I purchased. If you are looking for a nice tanning salon, then check out Planet Beach. It is easy to get in and out of and super convenient to a ton of places.

By the way, I'm a female and the manager was super nice to me. I work in retail and sometimes I wonder why people post such negative durogatory remarks in reviews. It shows a lot about their character.

Avoid At All Costs or Prepare To Be Ripped Off!. The manager is unprofessional, rude to customers, and trains his staff to charge different rates, depending on who you are, how much money you have, how you look, etc. If he likes you (ie, if you are a guy he thinks is hot), you'll get a bargain basement price. All others watch out, because you will get GOT!
