Carrboro hot spot.. I've searched, but I can't seem to find a web site for this place. So, I'll try to write about the dishes from memory (with no help from an on-line menu).

Large, vibrant space from which they also sell wine.

Menu is mainly "small" dishes with about six "large" dishes for those who prefer an entree-sized portion.

Our table of six had the following (sharing most):

duck confit (2)

fresh-cut fries

frisee salad

NC tuna with curry sauce and papadam (or, "puppodum") (2)

assorted cheeses with onion relish and apricot marmalade (2)

home-cured olives

charcuterie plate

ratatouille

calamari fritte

scallops (2)

apple strudel with a star anise caramel sauce

pots de creme of chocolate and rose water (2)

pear tartin with cinnamon ice cream

The only dish that was not completely devoured was the calamari: we felt it was too greasy.

If you add it all up, it worked out to about three plates per person. Bill was about $43 per person, 2 bottles of wine included, before gratuity.

Service was great and we would certainly return.

Interesting and fun with tasty selections and friendly staff. My wife and I were looking for something new to try on a Saturday night, and we picked a winner. We showed up about 6:45 on a Saturday and had no trouble getting a table. Good timing as things started picking up after 7pm. Their staff was very friendly and attentive, and very happy to make recommendations. To be clear, Glasshalffull is not traditional Tapas, but serves basically an all appetizer type menu. Prices ranged from $4 to $14 (filet mignon). Our favorite was a special (Hoisin ribs), but we enjoyed each of the 6 plates we tried. Overall, very reasonably priced, including their wine and beer selections. While it was just to 2 of us for our first visit, it is definitely a place that would be fun to go to with a group of friends.

Top-notch tapas restaurant and wine bar charms the Carrboro crowd.. In Short
A practically perfect date spot, this restaurant gives diners an excuse to cozy up and share tasty tapas. The atmosphere is warm and modestly urban with brick walls and earthy colors, but the true conversation piece is the menu--go for selections like the cheese plate, the spicy shrimp or the chocolate crostini. A large selection of wine offers an opportunity to sample, and the in-house shop means you don't have to go home empty-handed.
