this is the MOST fabulous salon to which i have been ever in my LIFE. danny hooks me up EVERY time and i'm never disappointed. my hair style lasts a VERY long time and i don't have to touch it up with heat between appointments. also, danny is VERY timely. i can get out in an hour (i want to remember if it's ever been an hour and a half?). my time is VERY precious and i appreciate the fast service. at last, i've been able to get an appointment i've wanted without giving the most advanced notice. i am so excited everytime i leave because i feel so beautiful. RUN DON'T WALK TO LAVISH!

I am a new client of Lavish Hair Spa and I must admit I honestly and truly love the place. I started going to Lavish a few weeks ago and I love what they have done for my hair. I have received a totally awesome cut that is fun, fashionable, and manageable. Not only are they great at styling but they also do a wonderful job at treating the hair and ensuring that it is in a healthy state. Lavish Hair Spa caters to the needs of your hair no matter if its if you're natural, relaxed, or in-between; the stylist there are helping me on my hair journey back to natural hair from years of relaxer usage. Lavish is not your average salon the atmosphere is more like an upscale boutique with a welcoming vibe. They are knowledgeable of various hair types and textures and I assure will be glad to assist you on your hair journey as well. I will say this, every dollar that I have spent at this establishment has been money well spent because of the quality of service that I have received.

"Greetings, I am Ennette a stylist at Lavish Hair Spa. I have a passion for natural hair, business development, and enhancing beauty through hair and makeup. Lavish Hair Spa has been the portal that I needed to further develop all three of my passions. This salon genuinely strives to provide information about natural/transitioning hair and the plethora of options including blowouts, twists, and wet set . I personally go above and beyond to provide accurate, scientific information on all consultations about the natural hair transitioning process. Additionally, I consult on what needs to be done to achieve/maintain healthy hair. As a fellow natural woman of 12 years I understand the trust necessary in a good stylist. I am serious about my career and have invested heavily in my education from my collegiate majors in Business Management and Sociology from NC State, cosmetology license from VGCC, beauty certifications in lash extensions, airbrush makeup, city twists for natural hair, as well as regularly attending professional beauty trade shows. Lavish Hair Spa continues to be a great place not only for me share my passions as a stylist, but a place where women can feel confident and embrace the epitome of beauty, both aesthetically and emotionally.

Beautiful Salon.........lacks ETHICS!
by MWALK at Citysearch
Lavish hair Spa is a beautiful, modern, well laid-out salon. However, its not really the outer beauty that makes anyone or anything......its what's lies beneath! My first experience was a pleasant one even though I felt the services were over-priced. The Stylist Tanisha ( specializing in natural hair/locks) was very professional and experienced in her craft. Unfortunately my second visit was a DISASTER! After having an appointment on the books for almost 1 month, I arrived at the salon to be told be the stylist/receptionist that Tanisha did not have me scheduled for a service. While waiting for the receptionist/stylist to call and RAISE Tanisha on the phone, the owner bounced in with a "I can fix this"grin. Obviously she was phoned ahead of time and made aware that money was about to walk out the door . Ms Kito ( I later found out her name after inquiring as she didn't to introduce herself prior to starting her spill of excuses and promises) proclaimed one of the other stylist to be an experienced natural stylist.
After the "experienced" Natural stylist started to shampoo me I realized the owner was not truthful regarding the stylist skill set. The young lady had rather lengthy acrylic nails that prevented her from applying pressure to the scalp while washing. After washing and the styling process began, it was quite evident the young lady was "winging" it. I sat through and endured and listened to Ms Kito cheer the young lady on from the neighboring chair.
I could go on and on about my experience but I will reserve the balance of this review to say this to the owner.....I understand how much pressure it is to run a business and turn a profit. But, remember this... its not how much money you make....its how much you are able to keep! Raise your standards of business ethics to match the image you have created in the appearance of you beautiful salon. Don't sell your clients an unexperienced service at the same rate of a skilled professional! Also, the image you have created doesn't match the mouthful of excuses you LAVISHLY gave me for the shortcomings of your staff. Produce results not excuses! Last but not least, BE HONEST!...its better to lose a little money and maintain good clients than to make a lot off one or two clients who will tell MANY others of your unethical practices and dishonesty!
Uh-Oh...Ladies Beware

To my fellow Durham & Raleigh NC sistas: I'm gonna keep it REAL! Really Real! Kito is not my girl; therefore, I don't feel like I gotta tell lies and hype up her salon! The other review is right - She is the most money-hungry stylist in the biz! A $25 consultation fee is ridiculous, relaxer prices ($95 and up) - ridiculous, and now she's pushing the "keratin" system so that you can come outta your pockets with $300 (AND...what she doesn't tell you until they are mid-way through is that, if they "have to use more product", you pay an additional $25 per ounce! Let's not ignore the fact that she will straight correct/go off on her stylists in front of you and will stop and sweep, check email, ring up customers (cuz she don't trust her employees with the cash), have a conversation wit ERRBODY - all while you're sitting there with your hair dripping and somewhere you have to be. She don't respect NOBODY's time (but her own). If she gotta go, you will leave with damp roots bc she will be OUTIE 5000! She will shove products down your throat and PLEASE don't fall for the ultimate okie-doke: "trimming your ends" which will cost a cool ADDITIONAL $25-$35 and she'll leave you bald! Run from those scizers! She also pushes "natural" styles or "Keratin". WHY? because with natural, you pay for products and/or you pay Steep prices for a shampoo/style! Also, with Keratin, you HAVE to either by the expensive Keratin products OR come back to her (as there are few black salons that do Keratin) for shampoos! Try doing your hair yourself with a Keratin - not a good idea (can you say: Tina Turner?!) So, there you have it. I kept it real - told ya! I think I'm going to try Tamiko at Tea & Honey. Although I heard she is TRULY the best on the entire EAST COAST, girlfriend charges out the bootie for a simple blowout. Oh wait ..let me be fair: pros to Lavish Hair Spa: salon atmosphere (you get snacks and drinks - but you should because you pay for it) and she has internet! But, all of that nice stuff is lost by her fussing at her employees in front of clients and her LOUD cackling! She can NOT keep good stylists: Ashley's (both of them - GONE), Star - GONE, Velvet - GONE! She change receptionists like I change undies! But, if you can get past ALL of that, she has a really good flat iron/blow out technique! But, be ready for a 2 and a half to 3 and a half salon visit for just a blowout/roller set (or should I say - half day?).
