The only Groomers my dog has enjoyed
by purpleTJchick at Citysearch
I have a 2 year old Westie that Loves people and dogs, but is terrified of the groomers. She has fought, chewed, growled and even hurt herself trying to get away from the last three groomers. At this place she loves it. She plays with the other dogs for the first half of the day, then goes to the groomers. She is not locked up in some itty bitty cage waiting on her turn, and she does not fight the groomer, she really enjoys it! She even gave the groomer a "kiss" when we left (she is normally pawing at the other place's door trying to get out) I kindly pay the extra money to have peace of mind, and a happy dog
Not Impressed

This was the first and unfortunately last time we will leave our dog with the Pet Resort. 2 months prior to our trip, we made our reservation and faxed the appropriate paperwork. When we called to confirm our reservation 1 week prior we were told that we needed to fill out paperwork (which was already faxed). I hand delivered the paperwork that evening. Then, when we arrived to drop off our dog, we were again told to fill out paperwork (which had now been faxed AND hand delivered). When we came to pick up our dog (he stayed 3 days), we noticed right away that he was very nervous and uncomfortable. Looking at him, we noticed his eyes were mucous covered and crusted. His tail was down and he was shivering. When we arrived home, we noticed that his tail and behind were stained - obvious signs that he had diarrhea and was hastily wiped. For $120 ($35/night + $5/day group play), I am very disappointed at the lack of attention that was given to my dog. It was obvious that no one ever looked at his face or they would have taken 2 seconds to wipe his eyes. Also, no one ever mentioned that he had some sickness - which was probably due to the fact that he ate their food since bringing his own food would result in additional charges due to the extra work (I still do not understand the reasoning on that one). For a kennel that prides itself on 24/7 care, I am extremely disappointed in the apparent lack of care that was shown to my dog.
Tillie thanks you!
by Kathryn Milam at Citysearch
Tillie is a special needs dog who requires prescription food, medications, and special exercises. When a serious neurological problem developed in her hind leg, I worried that I'd never find care for her when my husband and I are away. The Pet Resort has been a lifesaver. Geriatric dogs are welcome and embraced. Pet Resort offers special one-on-one playtime, vital for Tillie since she can't participate in group play and since she needs to be exercised to maintain muscle tone. All of my questions are answered, and when I was in Europe recently, my emailed question was answered almost immediately. I like that The Pet Resort is convenient to the airport and is centrally located in the Triangle. I drive there from Durham in 15 minutes. Thank goodness Tillie has found her "home away from home." I recommend The Pet Resort without reservation.
- Pros: Compassionate care; immaculate, bright facilities
- Cons: Expensive, but worth every penny.
Thank you for great care!

I just want to say thank you so much for taking care of my girl Bella Stone while I was away on vacation Dec27-Jan3. This was the first time I boarded her and I was so nervous about leaving her in the care of someone she didn't know. I chose your facility based on the kindness of the staff when I called to ask questions as well as someone being there 24 hours a day. (the webcams helped too!) It was important to me theat she was given love and attention and I know she got it. I was impressed with the fact that she smelled good when I picked her up and didn't have to take her for a bath.
I will definetely bring her back, even if it is for playtime. (she is an only "child" and loves to play with other dogs) and have told all my friends and family about the wonderful Pet Ritz.
Thank you so much!

Gunther's home away from home
by petritz at Citysearch
Gunther is more than just a pet. He is part of my family. We when my husband needed medical treatment at a hospital distant from my home, I looked for a place where Gunther would be well taken care of as well as happy for an extended period of time. I found all that and more at Pet Ritz @ the Triangle. Owners Bill and Anne, and their skilled caring staff have become a second family to Gunther and to me.
They provided more that a place for Gunther to eat and sleep. He gets interaction with other dogs and humans, critical immediate accesibility to vet services, special services if needed such as adminestering medication or monitoring of existing health issues, and of course lots of hugs and kisses! My mind and heart are at ease knowing that Gunther has a home at Pet Ritz.
