Comfort Food. A Carrboro institution, particularly for the local construction and municipal workers. Not fancy, definitely not low-calorie; just tasty foods at great prices. Excellent breakfast selections and prices. Very good burgers for the price - better than going to Wendy's or BK. Lunch specials change by the day and all are quite popular. Great Value in Carrboro. This is classic Carrboro- UNC faculty to groundskeepers to fire and police officers. A complete cross section of the triangle. food is only ok but the value/$$ is astronomical. No frills but decent breakfasts less than $3.00/plate- 2 eggs, meat, grits and biscuit. Really nice people. Been going every Saturday morning for more than 10 years. Way better value than the diners like Elmo's.…

This "plate" includes an enormous pile of food including eggs any style, one breakfast meat, a bread, and a choice of side (grits, etc.). There are also a-la-carte breakfast items for less than a buck. This is quite possibly the best down-home meal deal around!
