The Best Pizza in Carrboro and Chapel hill. Amante Pizza has the best tasting pizzas and the biggest selection of toppings around. We usually order the Greek or antipasto salad which are really good; I can't really say the same for the national chains. The pasta is fairly new for Amante, so we tried it and you can almost feed the whole family with one of their pasta dishes, which are usually around $10. Amante has a new store in Cary near my office which has a full bar and I think about 20 draft beers on tap. Looks like a great place to take the family dinner or catch a football game on tv. I've always had a positive experience and we love the food.

Dont be too quick to order wings.. I dont know about thier pizza however thier wings are horrible. The chiken is white even WITH the sause on it, they do not cookt hem enough. And if you order them extra crispy it doesnt matter they still come out the same way, almost like they really dont care how you asked for them for them to be cooked. I know our company is getting tired of thier lack of service and lousy food. A lot of us used to order from them, not anymore.

Hope you're not super hungry. After hearing about how good the pizza was here, I decided to try it. I ordered the San Genaro (i.e., tomato sauce, Mozzarella cheese, spicy Italian sausage, roasted red and green peppers and white onions). I also ordered the Big Blitz Snickers Pie because everyone also kept recommending it. I was told my order would arrived in about 45 minutes. Unfortunately, my pizza arrived 1:45 minutes later and I only live a mile away!!! It was cold, and frankly, bland. The dessert looked liked it had been smashed.

I also called the restaurant after an hour and fifteen minutes had passed to check the status. I was told that is was "out on delivery and that the driver should have been there by now. " The woman who answered the phone then followed up with "and our manager just stepped out so can I have him call you so that you can get something free." I took this as an indication that this type of service was a regular occurance.

If you don't want any of the chain restaurant pizza, this isn't a bad choice -- just pick it up yourself or order 2 hours before you actually want to eat.

Amante's pies are so loaded with fresh, gooey cheese that your toppings slip, slide and drip off the edges.. In Short
Amante is hidden in Carrboro's version of a strip mall, sandwiched between the earthy-crunchy ArtsCenter and indie newsstand/video rental Visart, which rubs shoulders with the Cat's Cradle. Wallow in things you didn't even know people put on pizzas: baked potato slices, capers, jerk chicken, broccoli, Mandarin oranges, salami, fontina and Swiss cheese plopped on your choice of a white or whole wheat crust that sometimes fails to support all this chewy, hot oozing goodness.
