In Short
In hyper-creative environments such as Chapel Hill and Carrboro, music and performance are judged not solely on the merit of the artists, but also on the facilities that host such events. That's why spots like the Cat's Cradle have flourished over the years, spawning a loyal following of parishioners. But unbeknownst to many, just a few feet away from the Cradle's doors lies one of the area's best spots for traditional music.

The ArtsCenter sometimes offers great shows--musicians, theater or otherwise. A lot of times they don't, but that's okay, because they are one of a very few places who are trying to really be a community cultural center around here. They provide exhibit space to lots of local artists and offer classes for kids and adults. Check out their schedule and find something that might interest you, it's a good place to support.
