Horrible Experience: Do Not Use This Budget Truck Rental Dealer. Do not spend your time or money on Budget Truck Rental on 15-501 in Chapel Hill. You can expect the following:

1) extremely long waits when you come to pick up your reserved truck (I waited for 1 hour and 10 minutes. There was a very long line of customers and only one person at the computer.)

2) You may be given the wrong truck without warning or apology. (Only after filling out all the paperwork was I informed that they had run out of 10 ft trucks and I would be given a 16 ft truck instead. This was a real problem given that I only had goods for a 10 ft truck and was moving to a densely populated urban area where the difference between driving a 10 ft truck and 16 ft truck was substantial. I was forced to buy extra materials at a local hardware store to tie my goods into the truck as I used less than 1/4 of the space of the 16 ft truck. Budget also refused to compensate me for the additional unanticipated expense.)

3) Your truck will not have a full gas tank as is required. (My tank was only partially full - no one had checked the truck and filled it. While I was on the 70 minute line, another customer came back to the store 5 minutes after renting a truck with the same complaint.)

4) An underage and unlicensed driver brings the trucks to you. When I expressed dismay at having to drive a 16 ft truck in a very congested urban area, the owner pointed to his young son (nowhere close to 16 or a driver's license) and said that if he could drive a 16 ft truck, I could drive a 16 ft truck). I did not find this comforting. DO NOT USE Cliff Nixon's HIGHLY UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL Budget Truck Rental on Highway 15-501 South. My move was infiinitely more stressful than it had to be because of them. There are many U-Hauls in the Chapel Hill area - go to them instead!
