Awesome Experience.....not what we expected!!.
My husband decided it was time to replace our old, wornout mattress. We dreaded the thought of having to go out and face the idea of dealing with a "slick" salesman trying to force us into buying the "deal of the week". Were we ever suprised to be wrong about our fear when we were recommended to The Better Sleep Store. First of all, it was unlike any other mattress store we had been in. The store was warm and inviting, with the best selection of mattresses we had seen. Our salesman, Tony, was more than helpful, but not pushy. He helped guide us through their extensive selection of mattresses, but ultimately let us decide for ourselves which bed best suited our needs. We got a very nice Simmons Beautyrest World Class..at several hundred dollars under what we had seen it for elsewhere. It was delivered (on time) the next day!
The whole process was a lot more pleasant (and painless) than we had expected.

As a small business owner, you don't want any of your customers to be unhappy with your business. This problem was resolved immediately by picking up the merchandise at the customers convenience and providing a full refund.

Good prices and friendly salespeople.... My husband and I recently purchased a futon and mattress set for our son who is going to school at UNC. We visited a few different mattress stores, and were really put off by the high pressure salespeople. At one store, we felt like we were being stalked by the salesperson! When we went to the Better Sleep Store, however, the salesperson was happy to let us look around on our own, and when we did have questions, she was very knowledgeable and friendly. She didn't try to pressure us or 'upsell' us, and their prices were very reasonable compared to what we had seen at the bigger chain stores. We were under the impression that a small, independent shop would be more expensive, but what we got was actually better quality and less expensive than what we had been quoted at the other places. And it was all in stock, so we got it delivered the next day. Now we have decided to go ahead and replace our own bed and are thinking about trying a Temperpedic. It's good to know that we can buy locally and still get good quality and low prices.
NO RETURNS!. I have been in Chapel Hill since 1968 and this is the worst experience I have ever had in any local store. I went in and saw a headboard that I liked, but I wanted it in Cherry wood instead of dark wood. They ordered it and delivered it weeks later, but it looks more like mahogany than cherry wood. However, not only will the owner nott allow me to return it (even though I offered to pay shipping both ways), I was willing to compromise, but he won't even let me exchange it for something that would work in my house. Here I try to support the local economy and I get ripped off by a local store. The owner was not only unprofessional, but a rude jerk to me. AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COST!
