LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!!!<3<3<3. I used to hate Mexican food. I'm from Peru and I?m used to different flavors. But then, one day I moved near there so I decided to try it. Oh my god, the food was so good, ever since then (2002) I?ve been going there probably 3 to 4 times a week. I go to college so I don't cook. But I can afford the food there. My favorite days are Sundays with the mariachis. They make everything so much brighter. and I?ve actually talked to them and they don't want to force anyone to give them tips, but some people were asking where to leave the tip for the mariachis b/c they were so good, and there was no place, so that?s why they have those "signs." Also even though, yes sometimes it takes a while for the service. The staff is so funny and friendly. And yes it is true they do have the best margaritas in town, trust me. And of course their not the same thing as Mexican food in home, but I can assure you they?re the next best thing to it!

PS: I can say all I want, but you have to try it to see.

I've never had Mexican food that bad. I do not understand how in the world you could not call it bland. Blandest of bland ...

The service was not that great, but what really stood out was the food. I have never had Mexican food that bland in my entire life. We were on our way to another Mexican restaurant in the area but decided to give La Hacienda a whirl. The margaritas were good, but the chicken fajitas tasted like they'd been cooked on a grill that just had shrimp on it, and the pollo con arroz was so bland. The tortillas tasted like the ones you get at a grocery store and warm up in the microwave. I was so disappointed in this little place!

I love it. I love the food at this restaurant. I don't find it bland (unlike at another mexican restaurant in Chapel Hill I won't name!) and I adore the chile poblano. Service and margueritas are always excellent.

Don't expect real Mexican food. If you have never ventured out of North Carolina...you will probably enjoy this so-called "Mexican" restaurant. First of all, they use ground beef in practically everything. They keep the food bland to keep the locals coming. If you have ever been to Arizona, New Mexico or Texas...the food at this place is definitely nothing like what you would find in the afore-mentioned states. The atmosphere is nice...I get the impression that they try to use this to divert attention from the food...

Great Mexican Feeling. Although the food was a bit average for my tastes it was very well priced and the service was excellent. There was a band there when we ate the second time but they asked if you wanted them to play for you so you could have said no and they would have continued on. Great Margarita specials on Mondays and Thursday nights. The atmosphere made you feel like when you left you were going to be in downtown Mexico....!!!

Great Mexican. I like this restaurant because it feels authentic -- everything from the staff, the decor, and even the Mariachi band that plays occasionally. I always get the Tacos Al Carbon.... love it. The last time I went, I was a litte annoyed, however, by the Mariachi band that went from table to table playing music. Most of the guests seemed to like it, but I found it difficult to enjoy a conversation with my husband. Then, I felt obliged to give a tip because there was a little sticker on two of the musicians' instruments that read "TIPS." Maybe we should have sat outside in their patio area. All in all, it's a great Mexican restaurant, and they often feature coupons in the local paper.

Ole!. Great authentic Mexican food. Enchiladas verdes, carnitas are best in area. Coldest beer around! Mariachi band on Sunday is fun.
