Terrible Pizza from a place that used to be so good!

- Fruit flies in the salad

- Undercooked crust

- Wrong toppings on pizza

Here's the really funny one. I talked with the manager and he agreed to have some one pick up the pizza and refund our money. He then had one of the wait staff call 10 minutes later and say they didn't have any delivery drivers! ROFL!

When I went to return the various items I ran into another family in the parking lot. They expressed the same concerns (wrong toppings, bad pizza, etc.). We commiserated that was once a really good place had become simply a lousy pizza joint. Sad to say, but that was our last Amante's pizza .

• Pros: Lots of parking (maybe because no one is eating there?)
• Cons: Fruit flies and undercooked crust

Horrible Customer Service

I was a regular customer for nearly a decade even though I knew the customer service wasn't all that great. The food was okay to good depending on what you ordered, but the staff became increasingly unpleasant over the years to the point where it seemed they were only capable of hiring people who wanted to be anywhere on earth other than behind the counter at Amante. Sour expressions, nary a smile to be seen, a customer is made to feel his business is unwelcome at best, an imposition at worst. Finally, I had enough and decided no to spend my hard-earned money at a place that could care less. Go down the road to Rudino's or Tomato Jake's and save yourself the aggravation!

• Pros: A few decent menu items
• Cons: Heavy smoking from staff; horrible to non-existent customer service

Quality ingredients

Most pizza chains skimp on ingredients. This place doesn't, so we always choose them when we want pizza! The dough, sauce and cheese are high quality, so it tastes great (and makes digestion easier - cheap dough causes bloating.) Toppings are good too, and there are many choices including things like roasted garlic. If they tell you 20 minutes, show up in 10 because they're fast. Note when you get different toppings on half, the toppings always cross over, so if you don't like pepperoni on your half, you will find yourself picking several pieces off your side. Not a big deal, though. Overall, this place is great. The staff is friendly, even when they're swamped. Beverage selection is good.
