The "suites" @ How Suite It Is are
actually one half of a duplex. They're homey and yet tasteful, a truly wonderful alternative to staying in a hotel. The kitchen is complete, so feel free to stop at the grocery store on your way — it's like coming home. In fact, I forget the name and have mistakenly referred to Nina's business as "Home Sweet Home."
In all I've spent more than 6 wks in HSII as I searched for a permanent place to live. Nothing could have been better for my stress in this endeavor than to relax in "my" yard in the shade of magestic pines. When "neighbors" moved in next door, they were invariably friendly and kind. In fact, I'm still in touch with some.
I've read a negative review regarding reservation policy @ HSII, and I can say from experience that it HAD to have been a fluke or mistake. Nina is rigid in only one aspect: she honors reservations. Try it, you'll like it.

Wonderful gem in Chapel Hill!.
I LOVE staying at any of the cozy and very homelike settings that Nina McPhaul and "How Suite It Is" have around the Chapel Hill area. We have stayed at a couple of different locations and each one has been uniquely decorated and totally comfortable. Nina goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need. She pointed out landmarks and special little cafes. Not only are the suites more affordable than a week in a hotel, they are much more roomy and personal. I highly recommend staying at "How Suite It Is"!

Poor reservation policy.
Having confirmed reservations weeks in advance, we were told just days before our arrival that the present guests wanted to stay on through the dates we had specified. We were then asked if we could switch to another location some three miles away for just a little bit less. The location offered was out of the way from my wife's parents home, and made the distance to reach them even further. We declined and attempted to hold steady with our confirmed reservation. We were then informed that the present guests were staying. I can't say anything about the actual services, but we certainly had to scramble to get into another hotel on short noctice. We were sorely disappointed that our reservations were not honored.
