I am shocked as well at the negative reviews! I don't think we can be talking about the same place! I have been going to Johnnathan for years now and I am always so impressed by the way he can tell me what is going to look best on my facial structure and he always makes me happy. He's so creative and my hair always looks great. I didn't even know I had curly hair before I started going to him! It used to be this unmanageble frizz that I had to dry straight everyday but he taught me how to style my hair and now it's curly and it takes me literally 5 minutes to do! This is definately not the place to go if you're looking for a snotty spa-like environment. These stylists are very talented, love what they do, and treat you like family. The prices are very affordable, much less than some of the other salons in the area and they do a much better job. You won't get pampered here, you'll get the best hair cut and color of your life. I tell all my friends, family and co-workers to go here and no one has ever been disappointed.

honestly, i am shocked reading these other reviews and wonder if they went to salon 135. i've had an appt there every 6 weeks for 10 years without ever encountering this type of atmosphere. do not let the casual nature of the place fool you - these are professional stylists who do their job very well. I get both cut and color to difficult to manage hair and have never been unhappy. One of the best things, in my opinion, is that they will not let you do something that will look horrible. On several occasions I've been in when a person brought in a picture of a cut and the stylist gently steared them to a cut that would look better.

I am an extremely tolerant person; it takes a lot to rustle my feathers at businesses. I have never had a worse salon experience in my life. It was my first visit before going to Chicago for a wedding, and I wanted a simple trim. After sitting down to have my hair washed, I realized that my hairdresser was ill and started coughing and sneezing. She told a co-worker that she couldn't go to the doctor b/c her insurance hadn't started, but she never should have been cutting hair that day. Three days later, I woke up in Chicago with a terrible upper respiratory infection and had a miserable day of travel back to Raleigh and missed work on Monday. The cut was mediocre at best. Worst of all, her co-worker was loud, rude, and crossed the line when she announced to the entire room (immediately after her client left), a list of horrible life events that her client revealed to her (including a sexual assault). I was enraged, and did everything in my power to not say anything while instead giving dissapproving looks at the staff around me. I could tell that some of them were uncomfortable with this public disclosure of someone elses secrets, but there is clearly a lack of personal privacy there, and that particular hairdresser certainly lacks respect for her clients. This is the first time I've posted a review, but this event was incredibly disturbing and I will definitely never be back there. Unprofessional and tactless.
