Awesome place. I have eaten here several times and the food is always great. The staff are almost friendly to a fault, and the prices are pretty standard. Sure, the atmosphere is lacking a bit, but it's more than made up for elsewhere. Probably my favorite restaurant in Chapel Hill.

I used to love this place...but.... I think they may have changed chefs in the last few years. The last time I ate there, the food was overspiced and lacked the delicate balance they once mastered. The food is excellent for vegetarians, and the service is very good and pleasant. i wish they would ditch the fake flowers and plants though, they collect dust. But the buffet lunch is a good deal with lots of selection. I sadly can't say that India Palace is the best anymore...

The India Palace is a consistently delightful Indian restaurant; whether you want hot (Chicken Vindaloo) or mild (the Saag), it never disappoints. Like many other Indian restaurants, the menu offers a variety of dishes, including a number of flavorful vegetarian ones. The focus is on Northern Indian cuisine, the highlight of which is the 'tandoor,' or hot hot clay oven. Lunch features an all-you-can-eat buffet and ineresting side dishes, like samosas and stuffed nan breads.
