Great chinese value. Good value for the price...nice selection of food. Do not count on the desserts, though...typical chinese buffet dessert selection...frozen and sans taste. Wait staff hover nearby and talk about patrons in obvious manner. Nice atmosphere and family friendly.

Hidden Chinese Gem in the Triangle. Oooops....I meant to leave this review for the Cary, NC location!

35 Chinese is THE BEST traditional chinese food in North Carolina, in my opinion. They used to have a buffet, which I don't miss, but the stars on their menu are truly their authentic dishes. Just went I thought they couldn't get any better, they recently hired a new chef. The spicy Szechuan (I spelled that wrong) fish is the crispiest, tastiest dish I've ever had in my whole life. My husband and I can't wait to try the new dishes on the menu. Don't be afraid to try something new!

Best Chinese in NC. Service is as unbilizible. Food is amazing for a Buffet and there are many choices. The orange chiken is the best. You have missed out on great chinese food if you have not come to 35 chinese resturaunt.

Great family environment, great customer service. This is the best chinese buffet in the triangle. I have visited alot of them and 35 is the only one I would recommend. They serve quality food and it is a very pleasant environment. Great customer service everytime I have visited.

Worst Chinese Food. I have eaten at 35 Chinese on several occasions and it has been terrible each time. The food is cheap and they leave it out under the lights for hours so that by the time you get it, it's tough, chewy, lukewarm, and foul. One time, I actually had a staple fried into the batter of my sweet and sour chicken! Then they tried to deny it was their fault! Seriously, this place gets good ratings because undergrads can eat a ton for cheap, but it is very disgusting. AVOID!!!

Cheap Eats - Tasty Chinese Buffet. Let me begin by saying that I hate buffets. They usually provide lots of quantity with very little quality. However, 35 is an exception. Like any buffet, it is best to dine during peak hours when the food turns over quickly. At those times, you will find that the food is fresh and well-prepared. Although the majority of it is geared to American tastes (lots of batter-fried then sauced dishes), there are a some traditional Chinese dishes as well. They always have very tasty appetizers (steamed shrimp dumplings, shu mai, chicken wings, spring rolls, potstickers, etc.), good Singapore noodles, several chicken, pork and beef entrees, some seafood entrees (including squid, steamed fish, head-on salt & pepper shrimp), and really wonderful vegetables (snow peas, asparagus, green beans, eggplant, spinach). They have a small assortment of fresh and canned fruit, cakes, pastries, and ice cream (or is it frozen yogurt?). The price is so reasonable that this is one of the best dinner values in Chapel Hill.

Rapid Bowel movements for everyone!. If you like american-ified chinese food in a crummy campus setting - this place is for you!

Make sure you eat the stuff that is cooked REALLY well - like sweet and sour fried chicken - though, I guess you could go next door to Time Out for that.

Not Clean. I stopped by 35 and had both buffet and regular Chinese meal with my family on last Suday, and realized the kitchen is totally unclean. Saw the kitchen through a gap, where workers' hands were not wash before food preparation. Then, we just left there, never come back again. The food were not that great either.

A never-ending Chinese buffet delights Chapel Hill diners.. In Short
Completely devoid of the traditional ornamental decor, this Chinese mainstay is cavernous and casual with its brick walls and contemporary features. The restaurant's tasty reputation, however, is a result of its huge buffet. Singapore noodles, seafood dishes (crab Rangoon, fantail shrimp), tasty sesame chicken and vegetarian selections are all highlights--or diners can choose to order from the menu. For dessert, try something indulgent like the fried bananas, divine orange or banana cake.

Very disappointing. Though I am usually happy with any Chinese food, 35 was truly disappointing. The food on the buffett is unflavorful and old. My husband ordered off the menu and was equally disappointed. Don't go here!
