surprised!.
very surprised that El Rodeo was as good as it was. Very cool atmosphere, serves cold Corona's and very large burritos. Kind of challenging location to find. I recommend the burritos, there may be other good options but when i think of them, I think of freshness...which is always a good thing!

Applebee's goes Mexican with free chips and salsa, cheese-swathed combos and one heck of a margarita..
In Short
A corporate fern bar located in the renovated, cobble-stoned Brightleaf Square--the highlight of downtown Durham. Enormous selection of American-friendly Mexican fare. More than 32 combo choices (such as one taco, two enchiladas and rice: $6) as well as the especialidades de la casa. And if you never thought you'd veer from the beef burrito, you haven't seen the 15 vegetarian optionsat Rodeo--try a potato burrito with a chalupa on the side.

Standard Mexican Fair.
Been here a few times for Lunch. Usually its crowded and the Salsa is OK. The portions are modest compared to other Mexican restaurants. The Food Quality is OK, nothing special. Selections are standard fair. The service is good and the wait staff friendly. The Price is very reasonable but, considering the portion, its right on par. I am guessing the other reviewers dont go out much as there are better Mexican restaurants in the area.

MY FAVORITE PLACE.
El Rodeo on Main Street is one of the BEST mexican eating places. The wait staff there is extra friendly and quick. Everytime I go in they remember me and what I like! I wish that more places were like this one.

Good lunch, served quickly.
El Rodeo is a great spot for a quick, hearty lunch that costs about the same as the average fast food joint. The service is fast, but it is good, too. The menu can be overwhelming, but I suggest you try the "Rodeo Lunch" -- very tasty. This not "four star fine dining" by any means -- just good food, served quickly at a good price. that combination makes it a recommended place for lunch as far as I'm concerned.

Friendly, Fast, Delicious.
The servers at El Rodeo are friendly and helpful. Since I eat here a few times a month, the person who usually serves me even remembers my food allergies when I return. Their chicken fajita burrito is great, and their salsa, while mild, has plenty of flavor and more bite than most "Mexican" restaurant chains in NC.

Hot and Fast.
The food is always good, hot and served VERY quickly. That it's very inexpensive is an added bonus. I eat here at least once a week.

Typical fare.
Typical fare, this place is totally identical to every other Mexican joint in the Triangle. I like how there's a string of reviews that rated this place "10". Not fishy at all. Duh.
