Shooters II is simply without peers. One part cowboy bar, two parts dance club, one part make out room, this late night haunt in Durham is simply a place that must be experienced. Featured in Rolling Stone magazine, the best way to tackle The Shoot is not to remember you went there the next morning. Ride the bull if you're really feeling good.

I went to Shooters this past Saturday night, and I gotta say, its literally the hottest place around. After waiting in line forever my friend was told that she would not be able to get in without an ID (that she had actually forgotten). They were looking pretty carefully- apparently there is a pretty high percentage of under aged people trying to get in. I went and dropped her off and came back alone. On the bright side, I felt safe doing that. So when I actually got in, the first place I tried to go was the bathrooms, as I had been waiting outside for a long time. They were overcrowded and kinda... gross. I managed to get to the dance floor a few minutes later, after shoving through a pretty huge crowd of people. Also another plus, there were a lot of (mostly?) college students there, so most of the people there were my age. The dance floor its self.... was REALLY... REALLY hot. Not as in "awesome".... as in they need to get a ventilation system in here before somebody dies. I've done my fair share of clubbing, and I have to say Ive never left the dance floor so soon, and never for a reason such as heat. The music was good, and I danced with a few guys, but I couldn't stand it- I think it was more humidity than anything, in addition to the heat (it felt like a tropical jungle in there). I ended up spending a record breaking SHORT time at Shooters because of the dance floor. I wouldn't mind going back as a last resort, as I'm sure its always going to be packed, but it isn't my first choice. I'm a person, not a tropical frog.

It is a fun place to go for functions, but not great on a random night. It has a very mixed crowd. Prices are pretty low. It has southern, country look and feel. The atmosphere is always relaxed. I recommend for casual group functions.
