Talk of The Town Restaurant and Bar. Rhis nightclub is very nice!!!! Not too large, not too small. When walking through the door, is a cool peaceful atmosphere. The management always greets you with a smile, and always ask how are you doing? As the patrons enter, everyone seems to know one another, and there's jokes, laughter, conversations, and there are several tables of Bid Wiz, pea knuckle, and maybe spades. While the music is playing low, and the sun slowly sets, the restaurant cooks, got the smell of seafood, hot wings, and dinners. As the even progress, the vertical blinds are closed, which the atmosphere become intimate, and the volume of the music is increased. Depending on the night, there's a dj or a live band. Wednesday, is open mike night, from poetry readings, and maybe a song. Thurs, thru Saturday is nice. Both sides are packed, standing room only, and its just the best place to be. No one is rude or disrespectful. If you are sitting at the bar, there are no strangers. If you have been there, I suggest checking it out. I really do believe if go once, you will go again. By the third time, you are hooked and you are a regular!! Stop by you will be glad you did!! I'm a witness!!…
Great Time. We were visiting Raleigh/Durham a year ago from Cali and visited the Talk of the Town. We had a great time. We meet the owners and they welcomed us. We partied all night. We're coming back to Raleigh late this summer via New Orleans and will definitely stop by again. Thanks for the Southern hospitality.…
What's the purpose?. Recently I was walking by this place, and I guess the owner/ bouncer was on the sidewalk greeting his patrons. I must've been too hip for this establishment, because when I asked him what the cover charge was he rudely cursed at me that my kind was not welcome. What? My kind like what? Young college student on the come up. As dead as this club is you'd think he'd appreciate all the business he could get. There is nothing live about this club at all. The three patrons that he had must've been family members because I can't imagine forthright, tax paying citizens frequenting such an establishment…
This club comes to life after dark with local musicians who provide a swinging ambience for diners and drinkers alike..
The Scene
It's a warm spot with hardwood floors and exposed brick walls covered with paintings and photos of local athletes and celebrities. Take your choice of one of the tables lining the
walls or grab at seat at the bar. Depending on the night, Talk of the Town features live music, a DJ or both as the adjoining mirror-lined room is pressed into use.…
Great band / Great Restaurant. Hello to all, I am a resident of the Washington DC, area that has the pleasure of visiting your city once every few months. I had the pleasure of visiting the "Talk of the Town " on my last visit and had a wonderful time. Upon my return to Washington, I received an email from one of my favorite musician friends asking about this establishment. I gave it two thumbs up. He also statted that on the week of july 20th his band 'Split Personality" would be performing there. You guys are in for a treat... this is one of the best bands in DC. I am driving back to RTP just for this encounter... I am sooo happy :) I am a great fan of this Jammin band…
