What People Are Saying About Honey's Restaurant & Catering

In Short – Opened in 1961 as a drive-in restaurant, Honey's (think Southern accent) is a modern-day Durham landmark. Loyal customers are locals and college students, who return for the all-day breakfast menu and no-frills Southern cuisine. All breakfast platters feature eggs and include a choice of breakfast meats, hot grits, golden hash brown potato casserole and Honey's famous biscuits. Don't miss the "Hungry Men's Delight"--three eggs, two pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns, grits, biscuits and gravy.
worst thanksgiving meal ever

I went with friends on thankgiving day. It was one of the worse meals I have ever eaten. I ordered the turkey and the portion was very small and it was not even real turkey it was some kind of pressed turkey. Also the food was not very hot. Finally the desert was way over priced.. I was told that is not a good restaurant and i will never go back.

All I can say is that the food is amazing, especially their chicken salad and anything on their breakfast menu. The atmosphere was was nice, and any negitves I could have found with the atmosphere was totally over shawdowed by delicious food. Service was great as well. But best of all...FREE WI FI!

the waitress rude. She not busy. Not come back to customers to see if something else is needed. She brought the food. Then ran away. And not come back. She just go to the front desk and put silverware in napkins. When she saw no tip, rude look.
- Pros: the parking
- Cons: employees
Mediocrity at it's finest

I've driven by Honey's for years and always wanted to stop in and try it. Sometimes it's better to live the dream. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. Initially, the waitress was helpful, taking our drink and lunch orders pretty quickly. Food arrived within 10 minutes, but portions were incredibly small. I ordered chicken livers and got 4 "pieces". Waitress came back after being waved down to refill drinks. She came back, refilled drinks and left bill. We wanted dessert, but waitress wouldn't even look in our direction after leaving the bill. Waitresses were huddled at the bar most of the time we were there. They seemed to be more interested in talking to each other than customer service. Also, the restaurant wasn't crowded at all, but we were seated right next to a crying baby AND the kitchen. The noise from both made the experience even more uncomfortable.
- Pros: food tasted good
- Cons: poor service, small portions, slow on refills
Affordable food a step up above Waffle House w/free WiFi

I've been here for three years and have seen this place grow. They are open 24 hrs and have breakfast food around the clock. I havent tried their other items on the menu (burgers, sandwiches, etc...) but they have good pancakes, waffles, and I definitely recommend the french toast. They also have really good french fries. Friendly staff and good service. THey give 10% student discount. They renovated the place and it is brighter and cleaner than before. It is not smoky inside. And they also have free WiFi!
- Pros: Open 24hrs, clean nonsmoky atmosphere, great service
- Cons: not much
