There are some amazing (and amazingly weird) items hidden in these nooks and crannies. This store is the perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon.

It's a simplistic bookstore, but it will serve your needs, especially if price is an issue. They sell small press comics and pulp reprints, music cds and records, plus those hard-to-find books. They are helpful and it's not a bad idea to try this shop before getting online. Lots of intellectually-stimulating topics. PROS: price CONS: atmosphere

As used bookstores go, Books Do Furnish A Room is truly unique. They carry a wide selection. You can buy a cookbook, a sci-fi novel, softcore porn comic book and a book of literary criticism all at the same time. Ambience-wise ... well ... it's interesting. Improved, certainly. More light, better layout, and it's no longer smoke-filled. But the exterior of the building still has that meat warehouse feel. The parking lot is still unpaved and rough. The prices are great ... but the selection is really why you go back. I was collecting Robert E. Howard's Conan books for my brother one Christmas, and this was the place that hooked me up. But I'm not going to browse there for fun. It's definitely more of a guy's bookstore.
