Great assortment of attractive Glasses! Cool Sunglasses!. When I got my eyes examined at the Eye Doctors, I can ocationally find one frame that looks good on me.



When I go to SPECS I find 5 to 8 great frame with a nice spectrum of colors. I also like the way their staff looked at me carefully before selecting an assortment of complimentary frames that fit well and look fantastic.

SPECS, I LOVE their assortment of cool glasses!

They made buying glasses fun!

Have been going to Spec for a few years now!. I just found Specs at their new place (they've moved from Ninth St) and received the usual wonderful attention. The selection is excellent and I really appreciated the individual attention and time I was given. The staff know what they are doing folks! With my particular level of myopia, Specs are able to provide thinner lenses than the chainstore counterparts and I always receive compliments about my glasses.

No Sour Grapes -- Specs is outstanding!. I've patronized the Southpoint & Ninth Street shops in Durham for 10 years. I love a place that has both the most terrific frames and a well-trained staff willing to help us. Originally, my young daughter accompanied me, played with frames while I got excellent help assessing what style, color & price range of frames would be best. My indecisive, elderly mom also gets terrific, patient (cheerful!) care every time we stop in, even if we say "we're just looking right now." Every pair of glasses we've gotten has resulted in countless compliments for each of us.

Another reviewer related horrible experiences at Specs, siting the owner as not dealing politely with her difficulties with a pair of glasses. My whole family has had the opposite experience, from the doctors to the opticians. Go see how great you can look!

Extra-extraordinary (yes, it is possible).. I have been wearing glasses since I can remember and my recent experience with Specs was, without question, the best in customer service, selection, and pricing. Christian is magnanimous - I am a broke college student and she kindly and covertly helped me find a $100-off coupon (pssst it's in the Independent newspaper). I even received my glasses and contacts the *day after* I ordered them, which has *never* happened before. Dealing with the eye doctor always used to be a huge pain, but Specs and its staff make it so much easier.

Hot Headed Owner. Be very careful complaining to the owner of this optical shop. He can be very aggressive and threatening to his customers if they have a problem.

Best Optician in the world. I recently visited the specs location at South Point and was graciously welcomed to the store by a nice young woman who was very patient and knowledgeable. It was the best shopping experience of my life. I felt like I was getting a make over and feel 20 years younger with my new frames picked out by this wonderful young woman. I don’t know if she is the owner of the store or just an employee but I will never go to another optician. She is the best. I receive compliments on my new frames every day!

I wouldn't go anywhere else!. Specs is the best place to go for glasses, hands down. I would recommend it to everyone I know! I have had nothing but great experiences every time I've visited- the owner is courteous and friendly and really spends time trying to help the customers find the glasses that are best suited for them. If you want to visit a store with a professional yet warm atmosphere that provides the most stylish glasses in the area, you won't find a better place than Specs!

SPEC-tacular!. I absolutely love my new glasses from Specs. I have worn glasses since I was little and can't remember ever being so happy with my selection. The staff were unbelievably helpful and made the process enjoyable and easy. I highly recommend you give them a try if you want to be thrilled with your next eyeglass purchase.

I love my glasses. I have been getting my glasses from Specs for over 10 years and I will only go see the owner to help me pick them out. He is the best optician in town. He can pick out what looks good on my face because when I try on new frames I can't see what I look like without my glasses on!!! I trust him to select the frames for me. I am very pleased and will never go anywhere else. I recommend Specs to everyone.

DO NOT SHOP HERE. Do not purchase from Specs! A purchase from a store should be respected if they are not proper, or induce pain after wearing. A pair of sunglasses was purchased recently. A day later, the glasses caused a severe migraine. The store was contacted and a refund requested. Managers would not offer a refund and were unwilling to cooperate. The owner is extremely belligerent, discourteous, and does not deserve your patronage. Find another local optician who will treat you accordingly and will work with you to solve any problems with your purchase. Customers deserve excellent service and you will not find it at this location. This goes for the location at Southpoint Mall, and the one on 9th Street in Durham North Carolina as they are owned by the same creature. Immediately pursuant to the phone call, a report was filed with the Chamber of Commerce, the NC Business Bureau, and the Attorney General's Office.
