Durham >Specs Eye Care
Warning!. Be careful of your attitude as the owner is rather prickly. I suggest reading the review of the store listed at yahoo local to be forewarned of what can happen. I had the exact same experience as marty.roupe. Had left my prescription in my office but wanted to get started on finding frames since I knew it might take a few trips to decide since my opthamalogist prescribed getting two sets of glasses, readers as well as distance. Had wanted some time to digest all the wonderful choices in the store as I was overwhelmed by the selection. Owner found my pleas to just look for a minute somehow rude and took it quite personally. Even refused to sell me the readers I really wanted to buy. On yahoo local the owner responded by describing the customer as having an offensive attitude, so I guess he thought the same of me as I too was asked to leave and never come back. As a professor at Duke all my colleagues recommended the store, but from now own, I'll tell folks to try their luck farther afield...
Great Eyeglasses at Specs Eyecare!. The best part of getting my glasses at Specs is how the knowledgeable staff helped me in the selection of a complimentary frame that takes my Rx into account and fits properly on my face. I've been wearing eyeglasses for 25 years and I've dreaded gettting glasses because its always been a negative experience with the help at the doctors office. Now I wear my glasses more than I wear my contact lenses, and I am constantly being complimented on how nice I look when I wear my glasses. Its been a real pleasure, and the folks at Specs are fantastic. I highly recommened them!
