Dancing, exercise and fun!. One of the first things you hear a first time dancer say is "I have two left feet." But in just a few lessons, they are really learning how to dance. The professional teachers know just how to teach the students at the proper level and helping the student achieve their own goals. Quickly the students sense their own progress and learn that dancing is about progress. There is always someone better, and there is always someone just beginning. Fred Astaire Dance Studio is a family. We receive support and encouragement from our professional students as well as our fellow dancers. The system provides major positive feedback with awards and encouragement. Dancing builds self esteem. There are opportunities at many levels - showcases, where we can show our progress with specially choreographed routines, and the applause from the audience is rewarding and builds confidence. Yuriy and Oksana do a lot of extra things that make dancing even more fun - such as booking the Carolina Theater for a Showcase or giving trophies for the Mini-Matches. Dancing is one of the most effective exercises because it involves so many parts of the brain and body - sound, timing, step memory, execution, and gracefulness. It improves posture and increases energy. Most of all. It's fun!
This dance studio is wonderful!.
I once heard it said that every time you dance with your love, you fall in love all over again. I can attest to this as fact! Fred Astaire Dance Studio has enriched our lives. Fred Astaire Dance Studio has made the dream of wanting to dance come true. The Teachers are unbelievable, supportive, caring, knowledgeable, amazing, and gifted. No matter how bad the day, to end it at the dance studio, can change anything into wonderful!
Have stress? Dance it away at Fred Astaire Dance Studio.
To say, “thank you” is inadequate to describe the emotion that overwhelms you at Fred Astaire.
I found my passion!. Although I was never a person to make New Year’s resolutions, each New Year I would plan to accomplish one thing that I always wanted to do. ( I hate to call it a bucket list… but essentially I was marking items off the old bucket list.) One of the items on my list was ballroom dancing. So, 5 years ago I walked into the FADS Durham studio. I knew after just a few lessons that I had found my passion - needless to say… I threw that list away. Now my New Year's promise to me is to make dancing goals and improve throughout the year.
I feel so lucky to have found this studio!.
Dancing at fads durham has become my weekly therapy. It's fantastic to walk into the studio, at a time that fits my busy schedule, be greeted by smiling faces, and let the stress of the day fall away. I feel so lucky to have found this studio.
I can remember watching ballroom dancing on television as a child, and wondering to myself, "How can I learn to do that?" Currently, I've been with this studio for more than three years, have far exceeded my original dance goals, and now enjoy dancing at local ballroom competitions.
My instructor, Yuriy, is simply the best. He has been able to teach me solid technique and always keeps it fun at the same time. In fact, all the instructors there are friendly, professional, and are just super-fun people! I'm completely hooked on ballroom dancing because of this studio, and know that it will be a continuing part of my life for fun, exercise, and relaxation.
I drive from Wake Forest to the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Durham to take dance lessons. I began taking lessons locally and realized I wanted to improve my level of dance and maybe even enter competitions. I had heard about the Durham studio instructors so I called and explained my interest in becoming a better dancer.
I have found the quality of instruction to be truly unbelievable and I feel so fortunate to be able to follow my dream of dancing. I has changed my life… dancing makes me feel ageless and graceful and it is a pleasure to be in the company of other students who feel the same.
