Best Improved Recently

I have been a regular golf player for long time and I haven't been to The Golf Center for a while due to the fact that the place had not been maintained properly for a long time. I just went there to try again since my friends told me that the management had been changed to a new owner and the place is much better now. IT IS PRETTY GOOD NOW! They got all new brand name golfballs, not like other ranges in the area, the grass tee box has been improved a lot, the sand bunker is being fixed up, the putting area is being worked on, and many things. I even hear that the new owner is building a roof on top of the tee boxes for rainy or sunny days, with fans for summer and heaters for winter. The place is looking better everyday. I could tell the new onwer, who is a golf pro, is investing tons of money to make it a great golf practice facility. I would recommend this place to anyone. I am definitely going to use this place regularly from now on to improve my overall golf skills. On top of t hat, you can't beat their price, with pre-paid cards.
- Pros: Open late with lights, new golfballs, price, have both grass and mat, alignment tools on grass, etc...
- Cons: Road construction in front. improvements not finished yet, artificial putting area.
nice green, friendly, plenty of parking

I have been going there for over a year. Recently the owner improved the green and overall appearance of the place. I feel comfortable that I will pay reasonable fees and the place is relaxing to hang out. It's open early and open till 11 at night. I like the no pressure, simple, and relaxing atmosphere. I have recommend the place to two of my neighbors and we meet regularly after dinner to improve our golf skills and to slow down from it all...after a hard day at work.
- Pros: nice green, low price, friendly, operation hours are long till 11 at night
- Cons: no food service, just beverages
Save Yourself the Trip: Bypass The Golf Center

Okay, so I was looking around for places to sharpen my golf game, so I decided to try out The Golf Center on Garrett Road. It had everything I needed (and lord knows, I need everything): a driving range, a chipping area, and a putting surface, so one would think this facility would be ideal.
But, my overall experience there was underwhelming. First of all, the place looked run down and unappealing, basically not passing itself off well as a golf facility. Granted, once you went inside, things seemed okay. They have a fairly nice pro shop, and the rates for the driving range are pretty much at the norm.
Their driving range isn't the best kept range out there, but it doesn't matter all that much if you're just hooking and slicing tee shots into oblivion. The tee area is spotty, so hitting off the grass could be troublesome. I went ahead and wasted a bucket of golfballs out there...nothing new.
But here's where the experience starts to take a downward spiral. After the range, I go over to their putting surface, and let me tell you, I've never seen a practice area that was so raggedy and unkempt in my life. Now, I'm a fledgling golfer, and maybe I'm not one for talking when it comes to things like this, but I know well enough to know what a proper putting green looks and feels like. This waste of space felt like nothing more than a block of concrete coated in the remnants of what appeared to be glue from a faux grass covering. With that, it was covered in leaves, sticks, and tiny pebbles, so not only was putting unrealistic, it was a total chore with the loose debris. Everything about it was a wreck.
I was so unimpressed by that experience, I didn't stick around to practice chipping. If you live in the area and you need a place to tighten up your game, go somewhere else. If you want to JUST drive golfballs, this place is okay, but for putting, don't waste your time.
- Pros: Decent driving range and low prices
- Cons: Overall appearence and the worst putting surface.
