Great atmosphere, excellent instructors. My son joined KI in March 2011. His self esteem, respect for others, and overall health have improved significantly. Promotions are earned & not just given at this school which helps maintain the morale of the students. I highly recommend this school for children & adults.

KI not only offers great karate classes, but also Martial Fitness classes. If you'd like to lose weight, get toned, and/or experience a phenomenal cardio workout, these classes are for you! In the first 4 months, I lost 30 lbs, which I've been able to maintain over the last year and a half. I've never enjoyed a group class so much in my life. Everyone is so supportive of each other's goals & that's not to mention the benefit of having a personal trainer without the cost! I feel better than ever & so should you. Get your summer body with Martial Fitness at KI Durham!

High Standards. I began my study of martial arts under Hanshi Bowen because I was looking for a physical education credit in college over ten years ago, and instead of an elective I found a life-long path to pursue mental, physical, and spiritual excellence. As a young woman I was looking for the ability to defend myself physically; I gained the knowledge to do so as well as the inner strength to stand up for myself and not let myself become a victim in any way. Karate International provides a wonderfully supportive community for studying martial arts, growing as an individual and developing higher standards in all areas of life and the discipline to pursue them.

BEST MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL IN DURHAM. Karate International has a great family atmosphere. The classes are age appropriate and taught by extremely well qualified instructors. They teach more than punching and kicking. They teach life skills such as respect for ones self and as well as others. Adults and children are strongly encouraged to show honesty, integrity, courtesy and a high moral code at all times. I visited several schools in Durham and surrounding areas before choosing Karate International. Their professionalism and friendliness won me over. Karate International is absolutely the BEST school in Durham!

Hold on to your wallet!!. Aggressive style. More aggressive salesmanship! Expect to be pushed into signing a multi-year, very expensive contract. They will entice you with belts, but then won't award the next level belt until you sign the next contract. Infuriating!
