Awesome!Wonderful Service! My husband and I came into the restaurant with a baby that unfortunately had no nap yet that day! (not a good idea) We ordered the best new york style pizza I have ever had! We had a waitress names Rachel. She was so kind and generous. She always had our drinks filled and food was hot. She even took the time to help entertain out fussy eleven month old son. We NEVER get to enjoy a meal to ourselves....Ever! I will only go back to Sal's from now on. Thank you Rachel. When you go to this restaurant ask for Rachel, she really was a breath of fresh air! I usually don't do or take the time for reviews but Rachel and their pizza deserved it!
Terrific Food at a Reasonable Price.
We went for dinner for the first time last night. We ordered two pizzas, some pasta, and three desserts. The pizza was fantastic (the large was enormous!) NY-style pizza. And the dessert presentation was great.
Six of us got out of there for less than $50. We will definitely be back to try the dinner buffet.
Worst Service Ever!!. The service was beyond bad. It was far worse than your general incompetence but had moved into that rare territory of willful and premeditated disdain for their patrons. It starts as soon as you get in the door. They have a please wait to be seated sign. Fine, but how long does one have to wait to be seated for a buffet lunch with the place nearly empty. Also how much training does it take to learn how to be a server at a pizza buffet? You sit the person(s) – take their drink order – bring them their drinks and your done. We server ourselves after that. Yet they managed to fail in even these rudimentary steps. First by not seating me for what seemed like an eternity and then not taking a drink order but scurrying away saying that they would send someone right over. Yeah right! I could take a pygmy from the Congo and have them fully trained in 10 minutes. I would have thought maybe they just hated me, until I saw them treat all patrons the same shabby way. Here is a tip for the staff: Why don’t you just stick to spiting in the food and lay off spitting right in your guest faces. Sal’s you reek!!!!
One of the BEST pizza places I have ever ate.. Me and my fiance go to sal's about 2 or 3 times a week for lunch. We love it. Their food is really good and fairly priced. I have tried many things on the menu and have had no complaints yet. Their pizza on the buffet is good but I highly recommend ordering a whole pizza for yourself. It is so cheesy and delicious it is out of this world. I rank this pizza place along side of the best I have ever had. I highly recommend going there.
An unpretentious New York neighborhood pizza parlor..
In Short
A lunchtime favorite of RTP commuters, Sal's evokes an unpretentious New York neighborhood pizza parlor, with a few sports momentos on the wall and a relaxed, casual atmosphere. Along with pizza, pasta, and a salad bar, Sal's has a weekday salad and pizza buffet and delivers on orders of $50 or more.
Great Italian Food, especially PIZZA. Moved from NYC over 13 yrs, and visiting Sal's, tried everything on the menu. Affordable prices, great food, family oriented. Everything on the menu is delicious. Excellent pizza and Buffet on evenings (Wed. & Sat.) Private room also advailable.
Friendliest Service in Triangle. I eat at Sal's Pizza almost every week. This is a family owned and operated restaurant in the purist sense. Meal times are always packed because of the friendly service and great food at reasonable prices. Joe, the owner, will often circulate through the restaurant and speak with diners on a personal and casual level. His wife will often check customers out at the register and is always a pleasure. Donna and her daughter Jessica have been hosting the lunch crowd for many years and offer their personal touch to the dining experience. The evening meals are usually served by Joe's daughters who provide a very pleasant atmosphere for the customers. I would highly reccomend Sal's Pizza for lovers of Italian food!
TERRIble. When I went there for lunch, I ordered the one trip salad bar, went ONCE to the bar, and paid for my food. When I didn't feel good and couldn't eat my food, the restaurant owner told me that I could not take my ALREADY PAID FOR food home !
