Shocking service..... try elsewhere.. This is my first review, but I felt compelled to write it after the bad experience there recently. My wife and I used to eat here fairly regularly when M.Khan and VeeJay were there (excellent folks, sorely missed!) However, since the change in staff the place has gone way downhill. Thought we'd give it another chance last week.... we shouldn't have bothered. To start with, the waiter brought out cold plates. When asked to warm them up he refused as "they had turned off the plate warmer". We should have walked out then, but when the food arrived the rice was hard and cold (I suspect lunchtime leftovers with a half-hearted attempt to reheat). Any chef that sends that out needs to have a word with himself ! To top it off, they cooked me the wrong dish. However, the quality of what was brought correctly seemed good (apart from the rice). The waiter was too busy reading the newspaper. Finally he offered to bring the correct dish, though at that point we'd had enough and walked. You couldn't even blame the fact that they were busy as we were the only ones in there...... and with hindsight I see why.

Poor attention to detail, poor service and judging by the menu they're not shy on the prices either. Do yourselves a favor and give this place a wide berth.

Greedy waiters. I would suggest not eating at that restaurant because the food is average, but you can get better service elsewhere. Waiters are average, but they expect more than 20% tip. The reason I know this is because the 2nd time we went, the waiter blabbed that the waiter that we had last time mentioned that we didn't tip very well. Cheesy

Average at-best. Food/Dining/Service experience is average at-best. With so many other Indian restaurants there (eg: Tower, Udipi, Suchi), I would recommend the other.

VALENTINE DINNER BLUFF BY BOMBAY GRILLE. I visited this restaurant with my friends (6 of us). The restaurant offered a valentine day special menu. The menu card stated 2 choices written as :

MAHARANI DINNER FOR TWO $16.95PP (vegetarian)

MAHARAJA DINNER FOR TWO $24.95PP (non-vegetarian)

We were told by 2 employees of the restaurant that this means dinner for 2 people (a couple) at the rate of $16.95 and $ 24.95 respectively. So we found it as a good deal thinking that for a couple it will cost 16.95 for vegetarian and 24.95 for a non-vegetarian dinner. So we ordered 2 vegetarian and 1 non-vegetarian.

The food served was not even fresh and hot. The service was extremely poor. And the biggest shock we got when the restaurant served us the check of $131 !!!!

When we asked about this huge amount they said $16.95pp is the rate of one person of the couple. So it makes the MAHARANI DINNER A TOTAL OF $33.90 and MAHARAJA DINNER TOTAL OF $49.90 !!!!

We argued as this was not what we were told in the beginning by the waiter and the manager there. Finally we end up paying $131 as they were not ready to accept.

THIS WAS A BIG CHEATING WITH US AND OUR SENTIMENTS. WE WERE SLAPPED WITH A HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR NUTS. I WOULD WARN ANYBODY/EVERYBODY WHO IS READING THIS MESSAGE NOT TO GO TO BOMBAY GRILLE RESTAURANT.

Horrible food and service. Absolutely horrendous food! And, if it's possible, the service is even worse. One of the waiters had a real attitude.I had the tip added to my credit card receipt..I was told this after the credit card was run!! The food is staple, strip mall Indian, no flavor..nothing. Some of the items at the buffet were cold. Please avoid this restaurant and save your money. Many better Indian restaurants in the area.

Pretty good!. I had a birthday dinner here - odd place, but no one else was there, so we had great service and good food. There was the joke that the waiter (not ours - the bitter one in the back who wasn't getting a tip) kept saying, "Happy 40th birthday!" Hah hah, very funny. (I'm not even close to 40, and you know how women love to be aged. Maybe this was the bad service reviewers were writing about.) The food was pretty good - the nan, kofta, etcetera. The appetizers were dry and blurred together, but the entrees were good. Also, it didn't seem to be too expensive for the 8 of us. Ambiance is a little dark, and it's in a strip mall - but food makes up for it.

Way too expensive. I had to write a review after reading about other people's experiences. I ordered take-out from the Cary location in January '06. I ordered 3 entrees, some palak paneer, and naan bread and the total came out to $67!!! The food was way too spicey, only one of the entrees was ordered spicey and they made all 3 too hot to even eat. I think there was enough left over for one more serving but I couldn't even finish it. I was not happy with how much the food costs.

would not honor WUNC dining card. My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant tonight. We have a WUNC card, which allows us to "buy one and get one free" meal. We ordered our food, and when the check came, they would not honor the card. They said "the meal your wife ordered is not one on the free list". They would not use my husband's meal as the lesser priced meal. They would not back down at all. We ended up leaving without giving a tip. We will not return to this restaurant. Our advice would be to show the card BEFORE ordering. We were truly disappointed.

Best Indian food and service in Cary. My husband and I eat at the Bombay Grill in Cary at least once a wek and the food is always excellent and the service very friendly and responsive. I especially recommend the Shahi Korma and Madras, but everything we've had there has been delicious. The atmosphere is very nice also...not your typical Indian decor.
