Buyer Beware!. Visited this establishment for the first time tonight, May 5, 2012. Entered Tobacco Road at 8pm and asked the hostess if it was okay if we went to the bar and got a drink, she said that was perfectly fine and that the inside bar was open as well as the outside bar that overlooks the Durham Bulls field. My party and I proceeded to go to the bar and ordered a few beers, and hour and a half later, at 9:30 p.m., we were approached by the owner Brian Amran and asked to either purchase a wrist band for 15 dollars to remain in the restaurant and watch the Boxing fight, or we would have to leave. This was the first time we were even aware that the Boxing fight was on, as I have no interest in watching fighting and were sitting outside not watching T.V., but instead having a good social interaction with friends. As we were rudely escorted outside of the establishment, I looked for any posted signs that said there would be a 15 dollar cover charge if you remained in the establishment after the Boxing fight began at 9 p.m., I found none. I feel that this establishment violated my consumer rights and I plan to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as the Attorney General's Office. I enjoyed the establishment up until this point in the evening, so if you plan on going to Tobacco Road, make sure to check the Boxing fight schedule so that you aren't asked to leave if you refuse to pay their 15 dollar cover charge!

The Worst Service EVER!!!!. My experience at this establishment was horrible to say the least. I was disrespected at every level of management. First by the Host/Manager. She had a very nasty attitude. I came in and asked for a particular style table. I watched as 5 different parties where seated before me and they all arrived after me. Then the Manager Chad assured me I would be next. Once Chad tried and failed at his job (to please the customer). I had no choice but to make the owner aware of the situation. He took his employes side in the matter. Which I was very surprised. He showed no concern at all for my experience in place. Even after speaking with the owner. I never got my seat. So to calm down I decided to take a shot. When I took the shot there was a piece of glass inside that would have seated me right in the hospital.Unbelievable!!!! Please avoid this Cafe at all cost!!!! As you could be treated the same or worst. My family went there before me and complained about the food and the service, however I wanted to try it out.......
