With the best in live music and great films, it's a classic example of an old-school theater.

Built in 1926, the Carolina Theatre is the last remaining of 13 original theaters in the Durham area. Since its restoration, the space has been used mostly for film screenings. You can catch lesser-known indie films here, and, occasionally, a Hollywood product lumbers in. The gorgeous Fletcher Hall has become a prime spot for touring music acts that are too big for clubs but want to perform in a more intimate space.
