Escape from the ordinary college bar scene at this quaint Irish pub.

In Short
Don't let the strip mall-type building that houses this pub on Franklin Street fool you--it's all Ireland inside. Wood paneling and dark painted walls give this place a rich, Old-World feel. Pull up to the large wooden bar or enjoy a little privacy in one of the bar booths, complete with stained-glass dividers. There's also a dining area away from the bar where you can savor traditional Irish cuisine in front of a stone hearth.
Solid Food / Solid Beverage - Good place to go

I have eaten here at least 6 times in the past year and it is always very good. Excellent Fish & Chips. Good Beer is fairly priced for a 20 ounce glass, wine is served in good size portions. Friendly and good service. Two beers, two glasses of wine and two Fish & Chips - less than $50.00 - A very good value in my book.
- Pros: Good Beers, Good Food, Parking
- Cons: Sometimes Smoky
Typical Irish Pub with a Frat Ambience
by yt
The beer selection and service is pretty good - the staff has made some great suggestions on beer. However, the ambience is pretty run down, but not in a lived in, "character" sort of way, but like a frat house that's seen it's day. The menu is the same old standards, not memorable, but not bad either. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but overall it's a decent place to grab a pint.
- Pros: Beer selection
- Cons: Ambience

good place for non college chapel hill residents, guiness, slow-poured, the way it should be
