Rude staff and payment required BEFORE service is rendered.. by Tiffany P. at InsiderPages

I went there because I wanted to have some kinky twists for vacation. I had them before (at another salon) so I knew exactly what I wanted. They stylists there do know how to do all sorts of braiding styles and they sometimes have 2 braiders working on one person at once so it makes the styling much quicker. However, my major complaint - which was really a big turnoff for me - was that customers are expected to PAY for their hair style BEFORE service is rendered. No other hair stylists or salon has expected this and I simply don't do business this way. After I refused, the receptionist explained that the owner had so many people walk away without paying that it's his new policy. I explained that I was not about to pay before I saw their work and I proceeded to leave. She stopped me and tried to work something out. After much more discussion, they finally agreed to allow me to pay after my hair was braided. But the damage was already done. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not return to this establishment. There are too many other salons in the area that know their craft just as well and are a lot friendlier.
Not Worth It Ever Again

I have been getting my braids done at both the raleigh and durham shop for a while now. All the times that I have been to the durham shop they have never ever opened it on time. It is suppose to open at 10 oclock. To me that is kind of late to open any shop doing hair but hey its there business so they can choose the time BUT PLEASE be on time. I know things happen But like I said they have never opened on time as long as I have been going. Another thing is that the floor is always nasty and the women are very rude. I was getting my hair braided the other day and I know micros take a long time and I don't have a problem with that the problem I had was that the ladies that were doing my hair had about 4 more braids to do and do you know what they did? They took a lunch break! Iknow they have a right to a break but 4 More braids? They couldn't finish 4 more braids and get me out the shop so I could go about my way! Then when they came back from break and finished my hair they have to plaid it in big braids and dip it in hot water. I know that the women new I was heated about them not finishing me up so I was sitting there waiting for my hair to be dipped in the water so that I could go but no one was dipping so I asked one the ladies coud I get it done so I could go and she told me with a smirk that they were waiting on hot water!!And one of the women doing my braids coughed on me the whole entire time. I thought I was being nice by giving her a piece of gum. Then I break out my lunch (grapes) she asked me for some so I gave her some. She talked on the phone almost the entire time while coughing on me and was just kinda of rude! If I am paying $190 dollars to get my hair done I would like a little respect. Do I expect them to kiss my butt? No ! But at least show me a little respect. The only thing I can say good is that my braids turned out good but look what I had to go through to get it as if paying $190 dollars was not enough. I WILL NOT GO BACK!
- Pros: Satisfied with hair
- Cons: Price keeps changing , Staff unfreindly, Place is dirty

this may be the most expensive hair braiding salon I've visited, but their quality is great. Nice athmosphere; extensive expertise.
